It's a brave move and the lowish budget doesn't quite pull it off and this would be my main criticism. Via Dei Bagni - the Abertny Foundation's Biblioteca Filosofica - when Sara ( Eleonora Giorgi) notices a strange sweet smell in the air.

According to Father Johannes ( Udo Kier) in the third film, the battle left Suspiriorum "a shell of her former self". Guts and gore are Dario's forte and, amongst many instances of horrific death, you have a FULL Vlad-style impaling with an uncomfortably long spear of my favourite actress in the film, plus a strangulation by intestines, and the throwing of a baby off a bridge.The acting is horrendous; Asia Argento, who is reliable in some parts but clearly limited, is disappointingly awful in trying to project anything except anger or passion. Informed Attribute: Sarah had no idea that her mother was a witch, or that she herself had any dormant powers. And, again, it might not be “retro” but the film still feels like classic Dario Argento quite a lot of the time. Escaping back to the city, Sarah goes to her own home but finds Mater Lachrymarum's goons waiting for her.

We want realistic piercing screams down dark alleys, not drowned out by loud music, and we want strong characters we can fear or identify with, and a catchy tune that brings its pleasurable memory thrill every time we hear it. According to journalist Alan Jones, this title "was never in the running as far as Dario was concerned. French horror magazine L'Écran Fantastique reported that Argento alone would receive a screenwriting credit. As a long-awaited coda to Argento's "Three Mothers" trilogy, [it] may not be exactly what was expected, but it is perfectly satisfying resolution. Written by Argento, Jace Anderson, Walter Fasano, Adam Gierasch and Simona Simonetti, the film is the concluding installment of Argento's supernatural horror trilogy The Three Mothers, preceded by Suspiria (1977) and Inferno (1980).The urn is shipped to the Museum of Ancient Art in Rome, where Sarah Mandy ( Asia Argento), an American studying art restoration, works. I Am a Humanitarian: Mater Lachrymarum and her cultists heavily engage in the murder of their victims and feast on their bodies. Sarah is caught and brought before Mater Lachrymarum, who offers Sarah up to her cannibal followers. Again, it isn’t that scary, but all of this stuff lends the film a certain theatrical, over-the-top edginess and melodrama.
