In my experience, the key storylines come through the rows and columns, leaving the diagonals to offer details. Remember that there are infinite card combinations and therefore infinite interpretations! As you gain experience as a card reader, your interpretations may also differ from the basic ones offered in the chart above. In our example above, the Heart mirrored the Rider and the Garden, representing a new love interest at a community gathering. The method is easy. You look at the corners to see the influences around the problem, the middle cards to see what seems important, the first 3 cards as a first message, they give the tone to the reading.

A five-card spread (also sometimes referred to as "a line of five") is one of the more popular ways of gaining insight into straightforward, everyday concerns. It is small enough to be concise and focus on one issue while at the same time large enough to give plenty of detail on the topic. Similar results can happen from the seven-card spread. Columns. The Grand Tableau is THE big Lenormand reading: but it potentially holds such a lot of information that can seem overwhelming. So how exactly do we go about knighting? I can tell you’re eager to learn, so let’s dive right into things! The next tip I have for you when reading a Tableau-style layout is to look for key positions of the cards.

The Start will always mean that, wherever it falls in the grand tableau. But the interpretation will be colored by the house it falls onto. For the sake of simplicity, if we consider the houses values being the same as the cards, the Star in the house of the Sun, for instance, will show a brilliant success; while in the house of Mountain, it will still show a success, but difficult to obtain, or delayed. One application I can see is it tells about what is happening in the various aspects of a querrent’s life. For example a ring falling in the house of the bouquet could mean legal/contractual relationships are doing well. And the mirroring technique could be used to glean more about whether it is a ealtionship/contract; while knighting could be used to infer what’s going on at a deeper level on that account.
