You might think I’d panic that all the screens and tech seemed to have just sort of vanished, but I am not a panicker and I am perfectly able to go without watching a viral video for a bit. The movement would go global, with each member committing to undertaking one random act of kindness for a stranger every Friday ("Good Fridays"). Cue a rollicking madcap road trip, full of driving disasters and family fallouts, as they set off on a rescue mission. Hamish is a thoroughly endearing character and Danny’s writing has a sense of humour that appeals to kids and parents alike.This hugely entertaining comedy road trip involves numerous family fallouts and misfortunes with road rage, cow snot, and a very angry waitress - but some positives come out of the chaos, when the family have no choice but to talk to one another instead of being glued to their devices.

Humanity is left bereft and suffering withdrawal, floundering around both in families and communities and as whole societies to function.The adventure the family go on is good, the character development is good, unfortunately this book didn’t give me the answers I wanted.
