Burberry Touch is an EDT and is not a projection monster. It’s soft and refined… and doesn’t shout out for attention. Soft & Refined Burberry the Beat is an EDT and has moderate projection… but be careful not to overspray. And in our tests, it lasted about 6-8 plus hours.

Burberry Brit Rhythm Intense smells nothing like the original Burberry Brit (which is a spicy powdery rose scent). Also there is a Burberry Brit Rhythm. Which is similar, but not the same scent. So please keep that in mind. Confusing right? And also has good projection for up to 2 hours… then becomes more subtle and sits close to the skin. I was a little confused at first when I smelt The Beat for Men. I was certain that I'd accidently sprayed a female fragrance instead. The scent was so sweet, with a touch of spice, woods and citrus. I now know that I hadn't been mistaken. There is also an "Elixir Parfum" version. It's a richer scent, with a heavier concentration of iris (you can smell the iris as soon as you spray it on) and a deeper, smokier tea note. The bluebell is there but less prominent, and the base, while still largely pale and cool, is warmer and earthier. It isn't carnal or wild either, but nor is it young and cheerful and clean.

It’s soft ,clean, and smells extremely pleasing. And you’ll be pleased to know this is… Hyper Versatile So many reviewers are saying that this fragrance is too harsh and too peppery, I find this fragrance more spicy than peppery. Perhaps it is just the way my nose perceives this fragrance. I also get a lot of violet and sweet, juicy fruits. Burberry Weekend is an EDT concentration and has average projection for the first 2 hours… then becomes more subtle. The bergamot, cardamom, and bellflower make a quintessentially British scent, reminiscent of both a classic cup of Earl Gray in the countryside and a spicy day out in London. This push towards modernity is perfectly expressed by The Beat, which is marketed towards a modern, yet sophisticated woman of any age. Invigorating and energetic, The Beat is for any woman who wants to show off her zeal for music and zest for life. When to Wear It

This complex and layered scent starts with notes of pink pepper, mandarin orange, bergamot, and cardamom at the forefront, with added hints of tea, iris, and bellflower. Hero is a modern, simplistic, woody-fresh scent with a classy touch to it. It’s understated and smells super-clean, which makes it a pleasure for you to wear pretty much anywhere, anytime, anyplace, any season. It just — works!

Instead, they've gone for likeable, and they've hit that right on the nail. The Eau de Parfum is youthful without loading on the strawberry candy (it doesn't smell like it's aimed at 'tweens), and while I wouldn't call it massively interesting, it's nicely done and a good fit with the Burberry aesthetic. I don't love it, but it didn't kill me to try it and I wouldn't mind smelling it all over town, in fact, I'd much rather smell The Beat all over town than any number of things. I found the Elixir Parfum considerably more tempting, in fact, it might be the first Burberry fragrance I've ever wanted to own. If you've been looking for a mainstream iris and found Prada's Infusion d'Iris too sheer and Bvlgari's Omnia Amethyste too pretty-charming, you might want to try The Beat Elixir.

The Beat is described as a sparkling floral woody fragrance; the notes feature bergamot, mandarin, Ceylon tea, cardamom, pink pepper, bluebell, iris, white musk, vetiver and cedarwood. It starts very bright, with tart fruit and juicy citrus. There is lots of pink pepper (can anybody remember what perfumes smelled like before pink pepper became obligatory?) and a teensy little pinch of cardamom. The heart is sheer bluebell-ish florals, still very bright; the base is cool and pale and summery, and smoothed over with a smidgen of iris. The ad copy calls The Beat "carnal, slightly wild", but that is the usual nonsense — there is nothing even vaguely carnal about it. It smells young and cheerful and clean, and is a pretty good match with the mood of the print ad. Burberry's fragrance designed for the sophisticated man is sure to become a classic. Burberry The Beat for Men Burberry Touch opens up with a blast of violet leaf mixed with a hint of citruses and pepper — to give you a semi-sweet, slightly powdery, clean soapy spicy vibe. This is more suited for the under 40 crowd and best worn in the cooler weather: spring, fall and winter.Sidenote: Apparently, this is composed of 3 different varieties of high-quality cedar oils, from the mountainous regions of Atlas, the Himalayas, and the Appalachians. Hero contains a blend of 3 different high-quality cedarwood oils.

Brit Rhythm Intense is an EDT and has great projection for up to 3 hours… then starts to settle down. Lasts about 6–8 plus hours. As with the original Mr Burberry releases, this was also composed by world renowned master perfumer Francis Kurdjian. Burberry the Beat was co-created by legendary master perfumer Olivier Polge, — who is currently the in-house head perfumer for Chanel. So you’re in good hands. If you’re looking for a flamboyant scent that is going to dominate the room… or something hyper complex or “ off the beaten path”, then you’re going to be sorely disappointed, because this one is… Beautifully Simple And suitable for all seasons (just adjust your sprays)… But where it truly shines is in the summer.This is super versatile: all ages, all seasons, any occasion. That said… it’s more suited for the spring and summer. When it starts to settle… the star of the show, the leather, makes an appearance. And is eventually joined with some woods and vanilla to smooth everything over. Nice. However, after about 30 minutes, you can detect some of the scent DNA of the original, but this fragrance then takes a different direction. The Beat opens with citrus, violet leaf and a touch of vetiver; the aroma is fresh and fruity in character — but strangely “subdued.” Into this slightly “green” world, marches what must be “leatherwood”…smelling suspiciously like cedar-cumin. The Beat’s pepper note is subtle and its woods are mid-strength (and just a tad “sweaty” and vanillic). There’s nothing to dislike about The Beat; it’s well done, but certainly not edgy, let alone cutting-edge. Christopher Bailey likes the word “effortless” and the The Beat is “effortless”: layer some DSquared2 HeWood with Gucci Pour Homme and you approximate the scent of The Beat — but with a livelier tempo and louder volume. I spent some time listening to the music that Burberry reportedly gave to perfumers Dominique Ropion, Olivier Polge and Beatrice Piquet to get them in the right mindset for The Beat (Kasabian, Dirty Pretty Things, Razorlight, the Arctic Monkeys and The Fratellis). It is par for the course, I suppose, that the music is far edgier than the juice they came up with? Presumably they're hoping to reach a wider audience than you'd get with a fragrance that evoked Dirty Pretty Things' Gin and Milk, and I shouldn't think anybody was going to go looking for edgy from Burberry anyway.
