I always love a good student/teacher, best friend’s sister, age gap romance. But what Stephie Walls has created with this book is all of the above and so much more. She has explored a topic that I think not many have dealt with, at least that I have read. The writing was flawless, it made you feel every ounce of emotion that hero and heroine were feeling. It all felt so real and at time intense. The passion, the pain, the love, the hurt – I felt it all!! I love how Robyn Harding tells a story. Everything was revealed in a way that held my attention and had me saying just one more chapter again and again. While I may not have loved all the characters, they were well-written and I was invested in seeing how things would turn out for them all.

I miss talking to you, running with you, texting you. Jesus. I miss the way you whisper my name in my ear after you kiss my jaw. It’s everything, Colbie. It’s you. I don’t feel like I can breathe right and like my heart beats just half a beat behind because yours isn’t there to beat with it. But until you graduate, I can’t erase any of that pain for me or you. And I hate it.” This was a fascinating story that unfortunately felt realistic, not so much the gravity of their secrets but the pretenses they presented outwardly and to each other. It was a combustible set of circumstances that was destined to implode or explode. I chose to listen to this story and was thrilled that there were multiple narrators used to present each family member’s point of view. All delivered great performances as they helped me visualize the characters consistent with how they appeared to be crafted. I also liked the well timed POV transitions. It enhanced the storytelling. I liked the ending, didn’t love it, but was satisfied nonetheless, despite that last line. I think I “get” it, or at least I choose to. This author has yet to let me down.It also had some of my favorite taboo tropes which I absolutely love and this book portrayed them perfectly. I mean, Ed and Rachel are surprised to learn that Gemma is pregnant. She had recently broken up with her boyfriend, and it seems like she is in a new relation. As DI Mel Sanders and Matthew Hill investigate, secrets that Ed and Rachel have held to themselves regarding past relationships tumble out and it is unclear if that has anything to do with the shooting of their daughter. Gemma continues to be in coma while danger still lurks. You think you know someone! Will you figure this book out? I loved that there were several things to figure out in this book! It kept me engaged, on the edge of my seat and going through my suspect list. What a delicious and clever whodunit! Teresa Driscoll is a former BBC TV news presenter whose psychological thrillers have sold more than two million copies across the world.

There were some errors.....commas missing, flake used in the context here needed capitalising and she persistently misses the apostrophe when writing ladies' or gents', which is distracting. Then she uses inquiry throughout whereas over here it is usually enquiry. One thing she did which I HATED was write "Grief" as opposed to "Good grief". It irritated me the first time it happened and I let it go, assuming it was a character's affectation but when another person used it I wasn't having it !! So that needs to go !! Another repeated error from this author (from a previous book by her) is writing playdough and not Play-Doh. She also constantly refers to "uniformed" officers when it is usually only uniform that is used in this context. Peaks was wrong and needs to be piques, too. Gradually we learn more about the secrets each family member is hiding, and how they might be tied into the things that have been happening to the house. This worked really well for me, as the chapters were short and engaging, and I could have seen each of the characters having something to do with the vandalism. They each had their moments where they were likable and moments where they weren't - they were all flawed characters, but none of them were SO irredeemable that I hated them. Personally, I enjoyed that none of them were "innocent" and each could have been the reason their house was being targeted. However, I don't understand why the author desided that it was right to write about this as if it's a good thing. Like, okay, that may be something her parents believe, however, it's Eli, this educated and presented as 'perfect' man who says things like that, too, and it's presented as him being loving and romantic. It’s their daughter’s graduation and Rachel and Ed Hartley are expecting it to be one of their family’s happiest days. But when she stumbles and falls on stage during the ceremony, a beautiful moment turns to chaos: Gemma has been shot, and just like that, she’s fighting for her life. Tense, twisty and addictive, this superb psychological thriller is one not to be missed. They meet again at her brother's wedding. They have a conversation. She gets drunk and kisses him. He stops her. He sees her playing piano. They have a jog together two times. They are now completely in love with each other. Mind you, this happens at around the 35% mark. Her Perfect Family is a really good psychological thriller that makes a great addition to the series and that, in addition to being a fantastic whodunnit, it has a really interesting mother/daughter relationship at its core that adds a nice layer to the whole. This is not your average student - teacher romance. It is a story about overcoming bulimia, wrapped in unconditional love.

Random vandals of eggs, apple, poop, and smoke bombs were at the core of the families group gathering discussions.Her 16 year old brother, Caden, is the only one who cares about her in the family and they are super close. She also has one best friend, Jess, who is also eighteen and they are besties since kids. Third Read - I still really love this book but I feel like every time I read it I hate her family and Jess more and more lol For some of us, when a new movie gets released with popular actresses such as Meg Ryan, Jennifer Aniston, or Reese Witherspoon .... we feel a happy endorphin buzz.
