The technology that sits within the Cloud X is identical to the other models that fall under the iconic On umbrella. Although it is still classed as a running shoe, we've found its real strength lies in general training, covering everything from gym workouts to HIIT, CrossFit and shorter runs. The heel, for its part, compressed quite well. It registered 20.5 on the HA durometer while the average is as high (or firm) as 27.0. The softness that the heel delivered neutralized the impact of our sprints, jumps, and other nimble movements. If you can contextualize the construction of this model to your performance needs, then I think this is a good shoe for certain activities. For example, it’s not the best for heavy training, but it wasn’t designed to do that. Both models are equally good within their own right and if you’re torn between the two, then I’d say go for the model with the best price point and colorway that you like.

It is also very flexible and immensely breathable, which make it such a hit for HIIT workouts. The Reebok HIIT 2 sizing and fit are interesting especially when you compare them to the Reebok HIIT TR. For the Reebok HIIT 2, I think most will be safe going true-to-size, however, this is a training shoe that does run a tad long.
