The Hive Mind has imbued this particular biomorph with a hunger for enemy psykers, its digestive tract somehow able to metabolise psychic lifeforms into psychocorrosive ash, which it projects forward in blistering torrents. Read more about the Tyranid side of the box here: Also good all-rounder board domination tools are Terminators. These have already been shown off on Warhammer Community, and are a pretty potent force on the table. They’re durable at T5 3W with a 2+ save and 4+ invulnerable, and have decent anti-infantry firepower from their storm bolters and Devastating Wounds assault cannon. They can also ignore hit, weapon skill and ballistic skill modifiers thanks to Fury of the First, and get +1 to hit against the current target of your Space Marine Oath of Moment. They also come with a free teleport homer, which you can set up on the battlefield at the start of the battle, and then use Rapid Ingress on this unit for free as long as they set up within 3” of it. Make sure to place it somewhere the opponent can’t easily overrun, as you still have to be 9” away from them. Terminators obviously have a huge range of models available beyond just these ones, and the Datasheet also comes with the option of chainfists ( Anti-Vehicle 3+ but less accurate than a power fist) or a heavy flamer/cyclone missile launcher as an alternative improved gun. You basically know what to expect with this unit, but that doesn’t make them any less scary, particularly with either of the buffs from the Terminator Characters!

The Horus Heresy - Book Seven: Inferno (Forge World Series) by Alan Bligh, pp. 53, 78, 142, 186, 197 Finally, we have the chunky Barbgaunts, who also look pretty tasty. These are mid-weight infantry who can unleash good volumes of S5 AP0 firepower on the enemy with their bio-cannons, which are d6 shots Heavy Blast weapons, so great at clearing out hordes. The real reward though is the debuff they inflict – every unit hit by them gets disrupted, subtracting 2” from their M and any Advance/Charge rolls till the end of their next turn. It’s worth noting that Barbgaunts can split their fire and with d6 shots there’s a good chance of you effecting 3-5 units with this ability. This is a super good thing to hand out en-masse, and these are another unit that have some serious competitive potential at the right price. Monsters Carab Culln the Risen - Carab Culln is the former Lord High Commander ( Chapter Master) of the Red Scorpions Space Marine Chapter and a current Relic Leviathan Dreadnought. Known throughout the Imperium, he is a warrior of great courage and battle experience who has fought the enemies of Mankind across the breadth of the galaxy. Renowned as an inspirational leader of unimpeachable bravery, Carab Culln had the honour of being selected as Magister Militum (supreme commander) of the Loyalist Space Marine forces during the internecine conflict known as the Badab War from 904.M41 until 912.M41. During his baptism of fire as a Chapter Master during this conflict, he preferred to lead the major actions of the war from the front, earning the respect and admiration of his peers. Carab Culln was believed lost to the Imperium in the campaigns that followed the Indomitus Crusade. Grievously wounded in the slaying of the Great Beast of Sarum, Culln's remains were returned to the Chapter, bearing only the faintest whisperings of life. Thus in honour he was interred within the armoured shell of a Relic Leviathan Dreadnought, blessed with the technology to allow Culln to serve his brethren in battle once again as Carab Culln the Risen. There’s still a great deal to love here, and release-starved Tyranids players will be all over these models like a swarm of their favourite space aliens over a pile of biomass. The final model here is a bit of an odd-one out, and honestly doesn’t fit super well. The Apothecary Biologis is a Gravis-armoured Apothecary showing off a mighty T6 defensive profile, and is clearly mostly designed to boost an attached Gravis unit, offering them Lethal Hits. In addition, if the unit kills something in melee then the Apothecary gains an impressive Objective Control of 9 for the rest of the battle. This seems ideal for taking something like Aggressors to an objective, wiping the enemy off, then holding the position forever, but there aren’t any joinable units in this box! He does have a starting OC of 3, so can be somewhat decent used just to babysit an objective behind a wall in this box, but he’ll definitely need the full index to really shine. However, Leviathan as a whole remained undefeated and continued to assault the galaxy. Leviathan consumed countless worlds. In response, the Imperium is reinforcing entire Systems, raising thousands of armies and dispatching dozens of Space Marine Chapters to troubled areas; meanwhile, several Craftworlds of Eldar used ancient destructive weaponry to reduce planets to Dead Worlds, and the Tau developed new technologies and weaponry to combat the Tyranids. [1d] [2] [4] The tormented and ravaged minds of those Astartes interred within are driven to the edge of madness by the little-understood mechanisms unique to the Leviathan, trapped in gore-soaked dreams of the lost Age of Darkness during the Horus Heresy which haunt the machines themselves, and soon suffer a final dissolution owing to the terrible strain the Leviathan inflicts on those who would dare to master it.
