He has been lead to believe that all the animals in the outside world have died of disease and that human beings are under the same threat.I love that are damaged hero is being fixed with the love and care of animals, especially since I'm a huge fan of animal therapy. Some of the descriptions I felt were flat and the pacing was even enough that I didn't feel excitement at any particular area. I am currently reading the Last Wild by Piers Torday, I chose this book because when I read the blurb it intrigued me and made me want to read on. Either way, this novel is overflowing with metaphorical resonances, you can definitely feel the amount of passion and thought Piers Torday has invested into this novel with each paragraph. The ending isn’t quite a cliffhanger, because much of the story is wrapped up, but there’s still some problems to face.

I picked The Last Wild because I thought it would be a short easy read to get started with, but I'm really glad I did. It is slow and a little preachy; with Kester having to talk out every thought prior to making a decision. If any of you follow me on Twitter or read some of my ramblings, you will know that I am deeply concerned with the environment and animal welfare. When ninety-nine pigeons smash through the windows of Kester’s prison and carry him North to the last of the animals…. First-time author Piers Torday is the son of Paul Torday, whose first novel -- at 60 -- was Salmon Fishing in the Yemen.

And that’s just as well – because he’s The One the last animals on earth have been waiting for: the leader of the wild. Their adventures keep the pages turning and leave readers with plenty to think about, including the impending sequel.

Kester hasn’t talked for six years, and he’s surprised as anyone when he hears a voice in his room one night.There's also nightmare fodder galore in grotesque scenes of weapon-wielding mobs and roving, human/machine hybrid animal-killers, and any kid who ever loved an animal will find the institutionalized campaign to exterminate them horrific. There are many deep themes and ideas, and it has been good to talk about these along the way, and afterwards. All crops are destroyed and the surviving human population live in fenced communities eating only formula (I pictured the pink goo used in making chicken nuggets. Kester has no idea however on how intense and dangerous his mission to save the last wild will become.

Not only does it have the power to have an impact upon our’s and our children’s minds but it also is an enthralling read.If all else fails run, or try to intimidate using non-lethal weaponry, resulting in intense cat and mouse-style gameplay. Dinosaurs in The Lost Wild are curious and adaptive by nature, but may retreat when startled or intimidated. He eventually meets a group of pigeons that can speak and a very bossy cockroach; this makes Kester think h. I was immediately drawn to the description of the book on Goodreads and knew that this had to be my next read! Do not miss this magical and astounding debut: The Last Wild by Piers Torday (yes mums and dads, his Dad Paul wrote Salmon Fishing in the Yemen) - a wonderfully imaginative tale of magical self-realisation and endless possibility.
