If, for example, I’m just headed out running errands or venturing out with my wife and friends, I like to carry the Everyday Sling and nothing else.

The Everyday Sling 3L is the edition I have not tested myself, though being the smallest it should be suitable only for a compact camera or perhaps a small mirrorless with one lens. That’s why I needed a camera bag that’s easy to carry throughout the day, allows rapid access to my camera, and with enough extra space for some essential travel items. Most of the time I use just one with my Sony A7iii , or both if I am using the bag to transport my Mavic Pro .

The 10L when fully loaded is almost pushing it a bit in terms of size and weight, but I think its versatility more than makes up for it. Both versions are comfortable to wear. If you have a particularly small frame, perhaps the 10L could be a bit on the chunky end for you. For me, it’s just about the maximum size for a sling. 6L If I didn't switch it around often for a wrist strap or hadn't bought it first tho, I'd totally be using the Slim Strap. With an 14" laptop sleeve, the 10L Sling sets up perfectly as a minimalist everyday work bag. As a photo bag, it'll give you substantially more capacity than the 6L, while still feeling compact and streamlined. The only sling with a strap for roller bag luggage carry. Example camera carry All these organizational features make using the Sling a breeze. When using it primarily as a camera bag, I find it very easy to store accessories like batteries, and change batteries or lenses using one hand, with the bag acting as a temporary ‘desk’.

The Everyday Sling 6L is highly comfortable in part due to its smaller size and thus lower weight. I’ve worn the 6L for entire days without issue. Its comfort level is just perfect. Even so, if it starts to give signs of breakage, Peak Design offer a lifetime guarantee on their products. I attach the cord to a small key chain ring and since then the problem is gone. Attaching the plate to a tripod takes a little bit more care with the ring but is still possible. The materials inside the bag are soft to touch and it feels padded enough to not have to worry about your gear inside. You’ll easily be able to fit a mirrorless camera and 1-2 lenses, spare batteries, filters, and a variety of other smaller accessories in the Peak Design 5L Sling, despite it being only 5 litres in overall capacity.

The various carry styles do mean that even if your shoulder gets a bit sore after many hours of wearing, you can change things up and maintain good comfort. Internal organizationI’m not the kind of photographer who likes to carry a lot of things with me on a day-to-day basis. I like to only bring what I’ll need with me. Compared to the LowePro Slingshot Edge 250 AW, the Peak Design Sling has been a big upgrade in many respects. Are they only for cameras? The materials used are very sturdy and have a premium feel, while the functional design is very smart, as is typical of Peak Design. I also have to say the aesthetics are a huge step up from other competing bags out there. LowePro or Manfrotto products just scream “camera bag!”, have logos on them, or unnecessary red or yellow accent lines. Peak Design keeps it a lot more minimal and classy. The Sling also opens nice and wide to easily be able to access your gear. No fussing about in small spaces.

While the metal adjustment handles are nice looking and give a sense of quality to the strap, they are also a significant hazard to equipment for those of us who put our cameras in bags. I was constantly afraid that the handle was going to scratch a body or LCD or worse, chip a lens that had somehow been put away without a cap on. As far as I'm concerned, there is no way that the Slide should have used metal in this design. The added weight was unneeded and the danger to camera gear too great. I would love to see this exact design, but with plastic adjustment handles. What's the Bottom Line? I’m a smaller framed guy, so often messenger and larger style sling bags (such as the Everyday Sling 10L version) can look and feel too bulky on me. The plate has small cutouts in each corner that allow attachment of an anchor. When connected to a strap eyelet and the plate, the camera hangs more naturally at your side when worn across your shoulder/chest as a sling. There are other products on the market that allow you to attach a strap to your camera's tripod mount, but virtually all of them must be removed if you wish to use a tripod. Integrating an Arca-Swiss compatible plate into its design means that users of the Slide can easily tripod mount their camera without making any changes to the strap setup.
