This book leads into the events of "A.X.E.: Judgment Day". Can't wait to be able to read that crossover in entirety. Al Ewing continues his X-Men story that began in SWORD by bringing the action to Arakko. As a new Brotherhood makes themselves known, we get some spotlights on Vulcan, Magneto, and Storm as well that show why Ewing's always a good fit for literally any book he gets his hands on. Before getting to all that, Al Ewing wraps up the Judgment Day crossover, though the key moment where Magneto dies happens in the mini-series, which feels like a glaring absence in this volume. Love it...hate it...this is the type of political intrigue and machinations that made S.H.I.E.L.D stories engaging. The storytelling in both volumes has been top tier. Al Ewing hits another one out of the park!Artistically, the issue is incredible. Storm’s dress alone would stand out, if not for the well-placed clippings of classic X-Men comics scattered throughout Storm’s thoughts. It’s a great way to indicate where her mind has been since the Council’s collapse. This is easily the best damn X-men book in the Destiny of X, all hail Ewing and his reign on the red planet.

Mutants have found a new homeland. Now they must fight for it. Don’t miss the first two issues of X-MEN RED when they hit stands this April! Her plan worked pretty well for me since the document was phrased as something that she’d been working on over time. Each section was written at a specific time of her looking forward to the next step. So sure, some of it is maybe a little much, but the base of it feels solid to me. Xavier, meanwhile, finally gets his talk with Storm. She reminds him that Arakko is more important than anything else, and Xavier realizes that Storm still resents him after their first meeting. They talk through it, before deviating to discuss the late Master of Magnetism. On a tangent, I've been wondering when Sunspot learned to fly. He was definitely ground-bound as a New Mutant, and very ill with some mutant plague during his Avengers Idea Mechanics time. Clearly he got better. It's been kind of cool in these comics to see Rich and Roberto doing some bonding. There is a long debate about whether or not to resurrect Empress Xandra of the Shi'Ar, and that also starts debate about whether or not mutants should be allowed to continue to resurrect. The short term solution? Magneto and Storm choose to live as those on Arakko, with no chance to resurrect...I don't know what to make of this title so far. My feelings are largely negative because I don't really approve of this "Arrako" nonsense as a whole. It's almost at the point where I'm going to have trouble remembering what happens with each individual issue, because my brain is already pulling away, waiting for something else to happen. The “mutant circuit” here is the Six, who obtained mysterium as a boost to the galactic economy in S.W.O.R.D. #1.
