Now, I personally found a lot of things to like in her interior designs so I found this book to be helpful inspiration, but if her style does not vibe with you then there’s not much you will get out of this book. As with most decor books, the bookshelves are styled with hardly any books, and they're used mostly as props. But I was hoping at least to see this Amber Lewis of social media fame in the introduction, preferably ensconced by lots of pillows. there is one photo with a blonde in it, and I think it is Lewis, but not sure because her back is to the camera as she styles one of her "signature" shelves. She talks about color but doesn't really use much, again with the exception of the little girl's room.Lewis' overly conversational tone is perfectly suited for social media but it is not a tone for interior design books. Delivering tips on refreshing a room with new paint (including finding the perfect white), mixing textiles and pillows, and blending neutrals, Amber's beautiful, California cool will help you transform your home into one that's elegant and timeless--a look you'll want to keep for the long run. For science, the Charlotte Mason method also uses living books, alongside a strong emphasis on nature study. Not only is that okay, it's how you achieve more than a re-creation of what you've already seen, or what somebody else has done. This is in contradiction to the popular view that children need their school lessons diluted down from the original language of the classic books.
