The A6G uses the latest version of Hisense’s own Vidaa smart platform, which is primarily designed to host streaming services.

Improved using around bar partly because of being hard of hearing and needed forward facing speakers. The A6H also supports variable refresh rate technology, which helps improve the overall gaming experience by reducing visible tearing in some games. It displays a good amount of colors in the commonly-used DCI-P3 color space with good tone mapping, meaning most colors appear as they should. The Samsung is a better choice for a dark room, as its VA panel has better contrast and better black uniformity.

The edges of the screen are noticeably darker than the rest, which can be distracting if you want to use it as a PC monitor. It doesn't have advanced gaming features, but its input lag is low, so the overall gaming experience isn't bad.

The machine itself works very well, really efficient and (now) is very quiet throughout all programmes. You do get smarts with the latest VIDAA OS with support for Freeview Play, while there’s digital assistants in Alexa and Google. If someone comes across a different type of panel or their Hisense A6Gdoesn't correspond to our review, let us know, and we'll update the review. Hisense appears to be choosing different panels for different screen sizes, with the 50-inch model reviewed here using a VA panel. I tested out the HDR Dynamic mode with His Dark Materials – a show that requires a more true-to-life grasp on colour.Not a high-performance screen then, but for everyday use without breaking the bank, it’s certain to please.

There are Smooth, Standard, Clear, Film and Custom (manual adjustment of judder and blur reduction) flavours to experiment with.Both TVs use different panel types with different sizes, meaning the exact performance difference may vary.
