Description

The High Lord of the Administratum at this time was Goge Vandire, who enacted a series of savage culls throughout the Ecclesiarchy, removing heads from many shoulders as he sought to root out the corruption. When they emerged from the bowels of the Imperial Palace they marched with barely-controlled fury to Vandire's audience chamber.

In Combat Patrol these units all have slightly different rules from their main index entries to accommodate the smaller game mode and balance them against other Patrol boxes, but they perform similar roles. They have the Vehicle keyword so miss out on some of the buffs that apply only to Infantry (they can’t be resurected by the Hospitaller for example) although they do have the Core keyword allowing them to benefit from some re-rolls. Those few Sisters that survived the final assault attempted to form their lines again but were cut down by the massive green tide of Orks.Though she is ostensibly answerable to the prioress of her Convent, a Canoness' superior knowledge of battle inevitably holds sway concerning military matters. Others believe that the Convocation was intended to curb the power of the Ecclesiarchy, exploiting the fact that the Sororitas are a loyal and zealous force that could be used to enforce the agendas of the newly formed Ordo, thus the Inquisition's willingness to turn a blind eye to the Ecclesiarchy's violation of the spirit of the Decree Passive. Vandire's answer was to dissolve the Senatorium Imperialis and declare both the Mechanicus and the Adeptus Astartes Heretics and Traitors to the Imperium. They hurl themselves at the enemy without hesitation, adding one to their wound rolls for melee attacks, with the ability to earn miracle dice for slaying heretical characters. Wielding halberts, maces, and the odd plasma gun, they’re bodyguards by lore, and will be adept at performing Heroic Interventions to keep your character models intact.

They have fairly weak, short-ranged firepower, but can reposition after shooting, allowing them to use hit and run tactics or simply grab objectives with bursts of movement. Like in other codex you get access to ‘flavoured’ versions of the Battle Traits, Agendas, Requistions and Relics but the main draw is the new Trials of a Living Saint mechanic that you’ll be using to chronicle your chosen Sisters of Battle Character’s journey from Saint Potentia to Living Saint (or possiby Martyr). Spirit of theMartyr allows sisters destroyed in melee before they’re able to fight to fight anyway, while Rejoice the Fallen allows the survivors of a unit that suffers casualties from shooting to fire back on their assailant.

Vahl holds the rank of High Lord of Terra, yet she is a fighter who leads from the front line, wearing an ancient Purgator Mirabilis warsuit and wielding a deadly, ancient power spear gifted to her by the Adeptus Custodes. Their Conviction continues to allow units to count as remaining stationary but now also grants a single re-roll of either a hit or wound roll when a unit attacks. The “Light of Saint Agnaetha” Relic is now a flamer type weapon with a 12″ range that inflicts mortal wounds on a wound roll of 4+ (2+ if the target has the Daemon keyword).

Battle-sisters are recruited solely from the female progena or graduates of the Schola Progenium facilities spread across the galaxy. Again, just like in the 8th edition Codex, some units in your army will have the Sacred Rites keyword (most units actually with the exception of the Cult Imperialis and Outcast units).

As Thor's crusade smashed aside those who remained loyal to the Ecclesiarch, the Space Marines and the Adeptus Mechanicus, both of whom had remained largely on the defensive during the Age of Apostasy, were finally able to join forces with Thor and close on Terra.

With the death of Gralastyx, the Chaos horde is banished into the Warp, but of Celestine there is no sign, for she has vanished as mysteriously as she appeared.These vary from destroying enemy models, passing invulnerable saves, using certain Stratagems or even collecting Battle Scars.
