When combined with the cream cheese, Milk loosens the sauce and helps create a lovely smooth sauce. The broccoli is cooked with the garlic in a little oil and then stirred into the sauce along with the cooked pasta. And that's all the ingredients you'll need to make this creamy broccoli pasta. I like to use Parmesan because it has a lovely strong flavour. This means that you need to use less of it to add flavour. To make it vegetarian, you need to switch the Parmesan for a vegetarian suitable alternative, or use cheddar. Cook pasta to al dente so that it has a chance to soak up that delicious creamy sauce whilst baking. Don't worry, the pasta bake will not turn out dry at all. There's plenty of sauce in this recipe.

Just for a little extra ‘umph’, we’re going to add in some onion & garlic powder, with some white pepper and nutmeg. Alongside those flavour boosters, I love adding in some dijon mustard too.While the pasta is cooking, heat the olive oil in a pan over a medium high heat. Add the sliced courgettes/zucchini and cook for about 8 minutes or so, turning halfway through and seasoning with salt and pepper.
