I started reading this book last year after my friend recommended this series to me and this book is one of the best books yet! It had SUCH A GOOD plot! Thank you Robin Stevens! Robin Stevens was born in California and grew up in an Oxford college, across the road from the house where Alice in Wonderland lived. She has been making up stories all her life. I will be interested to revisit this forum once my daughter and I have received and read the book, to see if there is a trend of contributors succumbing to the temptation before they have read the book. I loved it too! I have to politely disagree with you though that I liked it when Daisy didn’t die, even though she was living her dream as a detective. S My first thought was that it was a dream because Hazel was trying to pretend that Daisy was still alive. I think that it would have been a more fitting ending because it would give Hazel a chance to come into her own properly – she was always in Daisy’s shadow.

These are the books that made me start reading in English – I’m from Poland and I read first two in Polish, but at the time in Poland were only two the Mistletoe and Murder was already out and when I found out I was desperate to read them. So I did, despite my older sister not believing I would. I think the fact I am writing this at 1:20 in the morning after finishing the novel is probably the best way of expressing how much I loved it. Daisy and Hazel have travelled to Egypt, cruising along the Nile. On their travel agenda are some ancient temples and a mummy or two, but what they get, instead, is a grisly murder. Also travelling on board are a mysterious society called the Breath of Life: a group of seemingly genteel English ladies and gentlemen, who believe themselves to be reincarnations of the ancient pharaohs. Before long, one of their number is found dead in their cabin, stabbed during the night.I think this really might be the best Detective Society book ever, as it was so emotional and heartbreaking, the murder case being so complex as well. IT WAS JUST AMAZING!!! Amina invites Daisy and Hazel to Egypt, her home country for the holidays, and Alexander and George come along. She becomes a member of the Wells and Wong Detective Society, and solves the case along with the detectives. Thank you for being my favourite author EVER EVER EVER! You have inspired me to love writing, and it is thanks to you I love Murder Mysteries!

I loved this book! I loved all the twists and how the Heppy was so clever. My favourite character was May because she’s just as good as the Detective Society at only six years old! The book itself was beautiful and I spent five minutes just looking at it. What’s going to happen to Hazel and Alexander, Daisy and Amina, George and Lavinia…Kitty and Beanie??? P.S Robin Stevens I would just like to say a big thank you for making my 3 years of reading your books the best of my life! Your my favorite author and I was heartbroken when I heard this is The detective society’s last case… I agree I find it funny that both my favorites are the ones with death in the title. I was so happy about daisy and amina and Alexander and hazel. Even though daisy complains his arms are too long I was really happy for Hazel. I told my friend that the book was brilliant and after simply saying I didn’t want to spoil it they have concluded that daisy does not really die. I bet they solve the mystery as well. I haven’t solved one yet but I love reading the books the characters are so well created I was quite sad when I read the first chapter (listened to the first chapter in the Waterstones Zoom book event) and was quite reluctant to read on but the ending was so heartwarming with the fact that Daisy was actually alive! It was lovely also reading how Daisy and Hazel’s personality had courage grew!

That’s what makes it funny though how confident and selfish daisy can be!!!! ? but I get what you mean! She is still my fav character though because she is funny and confident and reminds me of myself a bit! The name of the parts in the book,Towards Zero, Appointment with Death, The Secret Adversary, Taken at the Flood, Cards on the Table, Death Comes as the End, and Curtain are all Agatha Christie novels. The Agatha Christie book, Curtain, was about her most famous detective Hercule Poirot’s last case, and the name is also used for Daisy and Hazel’s last part of their last case, which marks the end of their adventures. As for the mystery, such a simple but brilliant twist! I had my money on Miss Beauvais at the beginning (relative of Joshua’s trying to get her revenge? She was a very unassuming character after all). All because of you and your AMAZING books I am now CRAZY about murder mysteries. I also enjoyed the guggenheim mystery, but that could never, ever ever get as good as murder most unladylike. Hi Robin and everyone else!!! I can gladly say that I have finished all the books, and the last one left me crying. I LOVED IT SO MUCH OMG. HAZEL AND ALEXANDER ARE DEFINITELY AN ITEM, BUT DAISY AND AMINA YESSSSSSSSSS. Omg I’m so happy!!
