How do I look after my memory foam pillows? To maintain a clean pillow and to help keep dead skin cells out you should use a removable pillow cover that is machine washable. Go for a cover that is breathable e.g. cotton, bamboo or linen and always use in addition to a pillowcase. Used with a normal pillow, it does offer gentle help with snoring. This will make it an excellent choice for people who just can’t get on with firm foam pillows or the various other types reviewed above. As well as standard foam, Putnams offer it in memory foam for better pressure relief (although that does tend to trap the heat) and a graphite latex that’s cool to sleep on, hypoallergenic and anti-dust mite. Are memory foam pillows comfortable during hot weather?

Memory foam often gets a bad rep for getting too hot and stuffy. However, recent innovations in sleep technology mean that it’s now possible to find memory foam pillows that help keep you cool throughout the night.

The Putnams 100 per cent worked for me in terms of preventing snoring, but I did wake up more than usual through the night. I can’t swear that I got a better night’s sleep. However, my wife did. Usually she has to nudge me with varying degrees of vehemence whenever I start snoring. With the machine doing it, she got the night off. The shape of the pillow itself is well-suited to snore prevention: soft on top but with a firm, stable core.
