We're in a universe where attack is the best defense and suffering is prayer, and I couldn't be happier to enter the battle with the Adepta Sororitas. Warhammer 40,000: Sisters of Battle is another good example that Marvel’s giving the Warhammer series the attention it deserves. Combined with the colors of Arif Prianto, the grim darkness of the far future is brought to life in a style you've never seen before! This is a spoiler-free review, though you can get the gist from the preview that much violence is to be had.

Last October, Marvel Comics launched their first-ever W arhammer 40,000 comic book to much acclaim .With limited knowledge of Warhammer, I can safely say this issue offers a compelling world and enough detail to figure things out, but it still feels like I’m missing out on something a hardcore fan is lapping up. Over the years they’ve become the poster boys for an assortment of millennia-long attempted counter-genocides.

We discover these are not merely Nuns with Guns but soldiers of faith who occasionally find that faith tested to the breaking point. Recounting various adventures of the incredibly old and angry-looking Chapter Master of the Ultramarines, that series landed pretty well, all told – clearly well enough for Marvel and GW to green-light further projects, in any case. The epic showdown between Iron Man and his allies and Korvac and his cohort continues aboard Galactus' worldship!

We haven’t seen the third story announced yet, but if they continue to give creators like GrØnbekk the keys to the kingdom, existing fans and newbies alike will gravitate towards these stories. Led by a priestess who thinks she has the powers of a god but doesn’t realize there is an artifact in her temple that causes the power.

Salazar draws a dynamic issue, with little details in clothes, guns, and environments that help sell this sci-fi world. It should be a smash-and-grab operation, but forces hidden deep beneath the planet’s surface threaten to throw the mission into Chaos. Surprisingly, the book is light on gore, though what the Sisters fight against near the end of the book is undoubtedly frightening.You’ll never see a Space Marine mourning, likely because they are literally manufactured to know no fear.
