He isn't wearing a British uniform. The basic 60s Action Man came with a very basic American GI uniform, and that's what this one is wearing, without his cap. The basic Action Man, without optional accessories, didn't even have a helmet. All the uniforms were American, and your basic Action Man came as Army, Navy or Air Force, but all were American uniforms. And all the accessories were American too. Only in the late 60s did Palitoy produce a range of uniforms, to be bought as accessories, of different WWII armies. There was a British rival, made by Pedigree and called Tommy Gunn, but he was never as successful as Action Man, and didn't have such a big range of accessories. Brandon Caine begins trying to prevent Doctor X from controlling him and seeks help from Alex and his team to try and stop X and his plans. This involves returning to the now sunken oil rig in a bid to access information, but all is not as quiet as first thought.

The villains of the show are equally as interesting as the heroes. Doctor X is the head of Venom, a shadowy organization hell-bent on taking over the world. He is a mastermind with an army of loyal minions at his disposal. He is aided by his second-in-command, Baroness, a femme fatale with a cunning mind and deadly skills. The Baroness is joined by her partner-in-crime, the shape-shifting creature named Professor Gangrene. Together, these villains make for formidable foes for the Action Force. Dr. X captured and physically tested Alex Mann repeatedly, as well as his longtime rival & best friend Brandon Caine. Dr. X also added nanotech enhancements to Brandon, making him superior to Alex in athletics, only for them to have side effects. The culmination of the experiments was to mind transfer Dr. X into Brandon's body, becoming his younger self & nanotech cyborg, able to change his appearance and infect others. Following the ninth episode the series becomes more simplified. Dr. X founded the Council of Doom with his evil cohorts: assassin Asazi and weather manipulating scientist Tempest. Dr. X's nanotech trilobites appeared to gain collective intelligence and rebel against him, but this was actually Brandon Caine's uploaded mind punishing Dr. X. The animation in the show is top-notch, with fluid movement and detailed character designs. The action sequences are particularly impressive, with lots of explosions, fights, and intense moments that will keep viewers on the edge of their seats. The cinematography is also noteworthy, with dynamic camera angles and interesting shot compositions that make every scene visually stimulating.

Hasbro Interactive published the Windows game Action Man: Raid on Island X in the United States as a tie-in to the TV series, despite having nothing to do with it.
