It is amazing that each page has easy instructions on how to draw different 'things' persons, insect animal, fish, seascape,s. This course has given me a step-by-step process to choose a project and make specific plans on how to start, how to fit it into my daily life and my calendar, how to keep myself on track, and how to hold myself accountable. I have had many messages of support about the effect it has had on people's mental health, wellness and mindfulness. I liked some of these drawings alone, I liked the idea that a lot of these drawings tell a story of my day without that being directly obvious. Children will love learning to draw everything from an astronaut to an octopus, a fairy tale castle to a monkey in the jungle.

I chose to present one day during lockdown in a piece, I took a lot of experimenting with layouts and colour ways to create something I was really happy with. I've just spent time a few writing pages about why I love making art - and about what I would like to do more of. As I’m currently not able to go to the studio, I’m revisiting this method and working on a drawing reiteration of Rubens’ Descent from the Cross. So in this piece I have included, the shirt my boyfriend was wearing on Friday 10th April, which was the 18th day of lockdown, along with what I was wearing. Even if this doodles didn’t translate into something a bit more major, it was still useful for me to feel like I’d been productive. I really love this book and hoped it would engage my daughter; she likes it but isn't over excited about it. With 365 creative prompts and enough space for a whole year's worth of drawings, this is the perfect tool for starting or switching up your daily drawing practice. I really enjoy doing these with my daughter too and we have even bought this book for a few of her school friends parties.I could then look back at the different drawings I’d done and see any themes that I could translate into my main project. They have quick, simple drawing ideas on every page, and afterwards you can easily tear it out, put it up in pride of place, or just recycle it and move on to the next one. I could start with a humorous anecdote, maybe something self-deprecating —I’ve been doing a fair amount of that sort of self-flagellation lately. My daughter likes ripping out her favourites (which easily detach) and making her own magazine with them.But that is her usual reaction so don't let that put you off: as an artist I think it could be very inspiring for young people and fun for any adult, much more creative than 'mindful colouring books' that have been so much in vogue these past years. I'd say maybe 6-11, although younger children could definitely attempt it, and older children might enjoy them and could obviously add their own twist.
