Dog Man and Petey face their biggest challenges yet in the tenth Dog Man book from worldwide bestselling author and illustrator Dav Pilkey. The Mean Officers (the female is named Maude and the male’s name is unknown) are police officers who work alongside Dog Man and Chief, the two main officers. In Dog Man: Brawl of the Wild, they have frequently been observed bullying and antagonizing Dog Man, as well as incarcerating him once. In this book, as in many others, Dog Man and his friends are put to the test by inanimate objects (the evil characters) that have grown to supersize and become animated. It’s also worth noting that while Dog Man plays an important role, he’s not the only hero who steps in to save the day. So much (really gross) potty humor. Pilkey is somewhat known for this and the potty humor was why some people really hated Captain Underpants. I always liked the Dog Man series better than Captain Underpants because it was still all the funniness without so much grossness but this had soooo much toilet humor. They make up diarrhea songs, characters pee themselves, etc. Dav Pilkey was born on March 4, 1966, in Cleveland, Ohio. He grew up in a working-class family and loved to read comics as a child. Dav struggled in school due to ADHD and dyslexia. In school, he was placed in special education classes as he was made to believe that he was stupid as a result of his reading problems. When 80-HD is about to reattach the door on Petey and Son's, the stripes on his arms disappear. A similar error also occurs in Dog Man to Petey.
