The speakers are of a perfect size for mounting on walls or bookshelves, and other surfaces. Standing just under a foot tall, their dimensions are as follows, 11.3 inches tall, 5.75 inches wide, and 7.9 inches deep. S15 features Single Gold Plated Binding Posts type posts and R-41M has a Single Gold Plated Binding Posts type posts. None of these speakers feature bi-amping/bi-wiring. Personally, I love the stripped-down design, which has always been a trademark of the Indiana-based brand. If you are looking for a pair of speakers just to watch your television or movies, the better option for you to consider is the R41M bookshelf features. The sound the speakers produce is very crisp and clear. This is because of the signature horn-loaded design that the company uses. The 90×90° Tractrix Square that houses the tweeter does a lot to minimize any audio distortion that can compromise the sound’s quality.

S15 can handle a max power of 100 watts RMS from the amp the whereas R-41M has a max power handling value of 50 watts RMS, 50 watts less than the S15. A magnetic grille covers the front of the speaker. The grille is flexible and removable. It is also strong, so you don’t need to worry about its durability too much.

The update to the reference series have more powerful amps and a dynamic bass EQ feature. That means the R-41M can get louder than the older R-14M, while also benefitting from improved bass. However, they still don’t get quite as loud as the discontinued R-15Ms, which currently costs around the same. Consider the R-15Ms as an alternative to the R-41Ms.

While the R-41M has a frequency range of 68 Hz – 21 kHz, the Polk T15’s frequency range is 48 Hz – 40 kHz, meaning the latter can reproduce lower frequencies and give you a more robust bass performance. Apart from that, the Tractrix Horn features these speakers to ensure better handling of high-frequency notes. And it also reduces any artificial reverb that is caused by the sound bounced off the walls. These speakers can deliver outstanding acoustics with crystal clear sound.
