The LimoStudio 160W monolight has a funky-looking design compared to other monolights in this range, but that shouldn’t be a problem for most shooters. And although the wattage is on the lower side, for the photographer who just wants to get started in the studio, it’s an excellent option. The Neewer 5600K is a great lighting option. While the set-up does not come with a carrying case or a USB power supply, we had an overall excellent experience with these lights. They are agile, inexpensive, and neatly bonded. At 3.2kg it’s designed solely for stationary light stand mounting, but the aluminum yoke cradle is very tough, as is the XLR power input connection, plus there’s a quiet cooling fan to ensure the longevity of the electronics and 256 individual LEDs. We couldn’t quite match this in our testing, measuring a peak 1,840 lux at 4,000K, but that’s still noticeably brighter than most competitors.
