This book is a wonderful story about one person's struggle with dyslexia and how he was able to overcome the daily battle of learning how to read. There are many people who learn differently, they need to know they are not alone. According to Children’s Literature Briefly, this book is a window book. A window book gives the reader the opportunity to look into someone else’s life. Reader see what Adam is going through grade by grade. The author gives vivid descriptions of what is going on in Adam's mind throughout the story. By taking time to see what other experiences are like, we are able to broaden our own horizon. When I read this, I found myself feeling bad for Adam at first, because he did not know why he was not learning the same as the other kids in his class.
