Scout Squad: B Tier: You don't bring these for the firepower; you bring them for the utility they bring. Personally I'd skip these in favor of the snipers, but taking a unit of 5 in a Storm could be fun. Overall the Dark Angels have a wealth of options that they add to a fairly generic Gladius Task Force through their units. How to Score Points with Dark Angels Any unit is capable of punching up through Oath of Moment, especially when supported by the fairly ubiquitous Grenade stratagem to chunk through anything skirmishing on a flank. The question then as always with Marines is how do you kill things without Oath of Moment? The Land Speeder's second incarnation was released in 1993. This all-metal version added more bulk and armour to the vehicle, with pilots being less exposed in the front though not the sides. The Meltagun and Plasma Cannon were replaced by an under-slung Multi-Melta and a Heavy Flamer fired by the Space Marine riding in the gunner's seat. In 1997, another Land Speeder model was released for the Ravenwing Company of the Dark Angels Space Marine Chapter. This version replaced the standard Land Speeder's Multi-Melta with an Assault Cannon and the gunner's Heavy Flamer with a Heavy Bolter. Using a small brush, paint the green accents on the Land Speeder Vengeance with Caliban Green. This includes the Dark Angels iconography and any other green details.

Unlike the other speeders, it doesn't have Grim Resolve though. Which means that it won't fire BS2 or full BS overwatch if you're bringing it in a Support Squadron as an Auxillary to a Lion's Blade. Repulsor Executioner: B Tier: Its main gun is legit powerful, but I'm not sure it's worth the points, and it can't tranport that many models. Its ability makes it good for finishing off models like Knights that are already hurt.If the Tactical Doctrine was active for your army during the previous battle round, you can change it so that the Assault Doctrine is now active.

Gladiator Reaper: A Tier: This is one of the best anti-infantry platforms we have access to. The combination of Twin-linked, Sustained Hits 2 (when targeting Infantry), and Devastating Wounds on its main gun is just nasty.A Ravenwing Land Speeder Vengeance may replace its pintle-mounted Heavy Bolter with one of the following weapons: Although clunky when compared to xenos anti-gravity engines, the Imperium has made great use of Land's discovery, most notably in the Land Speeder that bears his name, and the new Imperial grav-tanks like the Primaris Space Marines' Repulsor that has recently been brought into service by the genius of Archmagos Dominus Belisarius Cawl. Given how easy it is to destroy, the best move for the Land Speeder Vengeance is to stay away from the enemy army and in cover, firing the Plasma Storm Battery at maximum range. One bonus of the Vengeance is that it is a fast skimmer, allowing it to move 12″ and still fire the Plasma Storm Battery. This makes it quite easy to re-position the Land Speeder if it finds itself without a suitable target to fire upon. This also allows you to deploy out of line of sight or further away from your opponent if they get the first turn. Having Deep Strike is also a useful advantage, allowing you to keep the Vengeance in reserve if facing an alpha-strike army or if you are forced to go second. The Land Speeder Vengeance can actually be a potent beta-strike unit when facing a Drop Pod army. Generally, your opponent may not be able to deploy in cover when arriving by Drop Pod. This means there should be little to stop the Large Blast Plasma weapon from decimating any Drop Pod unit (assuming it passes its Gets Hot roll). The Land Speeders of those ancient and more technologically advanced times were also able to be armed with up to two Hunter-Killer Missile Launchers, each with a single Hunter-Killer Missile. Unlike many other Imperial vehicles, the Land Speeder has no upgrades or attachments that can be equipped. He's certainly cheap enough to maybe be good, but again there isn't anything amazing for him to lead. He could potentially be a decent candidate for a Command Squad as they would benefit well from his rerolls (seeing as how a couple of them can take real melee weapons) but that unit is just too expensive for what it does. Ezekiel is just a better choice most of the time. Land Raider Redeemer: A Tier: Not only does this thing have decent transport capacity, but it can be an absolute menace with its strong auto-hitting flame weapons on Overwatch. Land Speeder Tornado: A Tier: Expensive, but its strafe ability is great for pumping out a few cheeky mortal wounds to a tougher squad. Grab an Assault Cannon and Multimelta for some decent firepower too. Dreadnought: D Tier: The classic box dread is, unfortunately, trash at its price point. Almost any vehicle will do the same job better.Considering the incredible mental and physical strain of achieving such bewildering manoeuvres at maximum speeds, the fact that few Land Speeders are lost to pilot error can be solely attributed to the superhuman reactions, training and stamina of the Space Marines who crew them. When the Adeptus Astartes fight, they employ a set of combat doctrines to eliminate the enemy. After pounding the foe with heavy weapons, warriors advance to lay down a hail of bolter fire before charging forth with chainswords roaring to finish the foe.If every unit from your army has the ADEPTUS ASTARTES keyword (excluding AGENT OF THE IMPERIUM and UNALIGNED units), this unit gains a bonus (see below) depending on which Combat Doctrine is active for your army. During the first battle round, the Devastator Doctrine is active for your army. From the second battle round onwards, at the start of the battle round, you can change which Combat Doctrine is active for your army, as follows: Slightly larger than the standard Land Speeder, the Tempest carries heavier armour and weapons. To save on weight, the gunner is replaced with a slaved targeting system with the pilot's aim assisted by a Machine Spirit. Weaponry includes a fixed-forward Assault Cannon and twin-linked Missile Launchers controlled through a multi-spectral targeting surveyor. Despite the heavier armour, standard combat tactics remain the same, with Tempests flying nap-of-the-earth to avoid enemy fire. [1b] Technical Specifications The standard Land Speeder is used as a fast scouting and reconnaissance vehicle and as such is only lightly armed and armoured. The Land Speeder is armed with a single pintle-mounted Heavy Bolter that is operated by the vehicle's gunner. Scout Sniper Squad: A Tier: One of the better character hunter units in the game, probably better point for point than even Eliminators.
