As you can plainly see, the Moto E6 Play is a regular slowpoke, right down there with the dreadful Alcatel 1x. With a low-power CPU and a relatively modest HD+ display, it simply isn’t as power-hungry as most other phones. To end with a slight positive, the Moto E6 Play does at least stick with Motorola’s tradition of keeping Android as clean as possible. My main responsibility as an editorial assistant is maintaining the Library section, which aggregates reviews from other publications and channels.

One of the few positives is storage: it might only come with a lowly 32GB of onboard memory, with a quarter of that already used up by the operating system, but a dedicated microSD card slot means you can add more, and still have the option of dual SIM cards. Choose from Ocean Blue and Steel Black designs, each with a metallic finish that looks as great as it feels. but it also includes the MediaTek MT6739 processor, which is quite a downgrade from the Helio P22 that powers the E6 Plus. A large part of this performance shortfall is down to the choice of CPU – a MediaTek MT6739 quad-core chip that trails even the modest silicon provided for the Moto E6 Plus before it.

This table is a little confusing, but the bars you care about are the yellowish ones – onscreen fps is clouded by the fact that each of these handsets have different screen resolutions.Regardless, the phone’s poor performance level should make anyone that values a smooth smartphone experience think twice about a purchase. However, choose to use the Moto E6 Play for some more intensive media playing and you’ll need to fall into the usual nightly charge routine – or even find a handy wall socket.
