I really could've gone on with my life peacefully without knowing we'll be "graced" by this same story again. Only my buddy reader’s advice who was one step ahead of me, seemed to slow and calm me down, make me savour this read more. When this space could have been better utilised by more flashbacks, and more insight into Christian’s thoughts, it is irritating to see how much of the narrative was wasted on non-events.

Unlike any woman he has known before, shy, unworldly Ana seems to see right through him - past the business prodigy and the penthouse lifestyle to Christian’s cold, wounded heart. This gave me a push to expand my boundaries and now I am getting a chance at doing something with my life that I love to do. But when the top dozen Goodreads reviews are all, "Hell NO, we won't read this crap, and we'll be (not so) silently judging anyone who does," well .If she brings the rest of the books out from Christian’s pov I will most definitely be listening to them on audio! As she smiles and leans over to put it on my Louis XIV escritoire, I ask my cock what he thinks of the bountiful assets she is so generously displaying. I hoped that it would be an eye-opener about Christian’s perception of Ana and their relationship but I was a little disappointed at what I found. I’m not speaking about the story itself because being a male POV I knew exactly what was coming (and to be honest I did skim a bit). Although he wants her absolute submission, it takes time for him to admit to himself that just maybe Ana won't be that woman.

So yeah, it might be a few years since this story graced my kindle, but reading Grey reminded me of all I loved about it to begin with. The first book in Christian’s series, however, closes on the morning of Jose Rodriguez’s gallery opening – Thursday, June 9.It has also crossed my mind that perhaps she has been sat on this book from the beginning and announcing the release of this book just before the release of the 50 Shades of Grey DVD was a stroke of marketing genius: announce the book in time to encourage sales of the DVD of a film which didn’t do quite as well in the reviews as they would have hoped. I know some people have said he comes across a bit whipped or a wuss at the end but I liked the end - the fact he was that upset at loosing her was nice to read, lets not forget Ana is the only girl who he has ever let get this close to him. I’ll keep this review fairly short, most people have read Fifty Shades so there is no need to rehash that story. As readers, we wanted to know why Christian fell in love with Ana and what made him pursue her as he did.
