The Wave Rider 25 also has a firm heel and a much softer forefoot while the enormous volume of the Adistar’s midsole reminded me of the Bondi X. The pressure from the support frame is also noticeable on both sides of the foot, adding to this being a stability and guidance shoe. In general the shoe has a firmer ride than many max-cushioned options, though the way the rocker provides a smooth transition from heel to toe meant the Adistar never felt harsh underfoot for me, even when running farther than 20km. With such a thick midsole, you’d expect a sinking-in feeling with every footstrike but the foam is really dense and I didn’t enjoy the Adistar for distances longer than 10 kilometres.However, there are a ton of methods of new-age stability that provide a highly guided ride, particularly in the heel. I did not this despite the heel collar cushioning, so those sensitive to them may not do well in this shoe.
