Despite the fact that the Bible itself is not great, I’m sure the translators worked really hard and did a good job, so I don’t want to leave a bad rating.

I bought this for the broad minded ecumenical approach of the study elements, the essays etc rather than the specific translation.I even purchased a second copy so that I could keep one at work and one at home making it easier to keep up on the daily reading schedule. Now the Augmented Third Edition adds to the established reputation of this premier academic resource. At the same time, the "Good Stuff" section is the only place the Bible is treated with any respect or logic.
