Terror of the Autons and the remaining episodes of The Dæmons are sourced from B/W film telerecordings with colour taken from NTSC offair VHSs recorded in the US in the late 70s (with a single clip in Autons sourced from PAL VT as part of an insert reel for the 22/6/73 edition of Nationwide, and cliffhanger material from the orinal PAL Dæmons Episode Four being used in Three and Five). The collection contains five classic stories, 'Terror of the Autons', 'The Mind of Evil', 'The Claws of Axos', 'Colony in Space' and 'The Daemons', which first aired in 1971. Jon Pertwee’s second season as the Third Doctor, featuring the debut of Katy Manning as Jo Grant and Roger Delgado as the Master, is the next release to come to Blu-ray with Season 8 on the 23rd February 2021. Most notably, Coming Soon trailer for at-the-time forthcoming DVD releases of serials have been moved to the disc for the preceding story. For example, the trailer for The E-Space Trilogy box set, originally included on the DVD release for Battlefield, is included in the Season 18 set on the disc for Meglos. Optional Updated Special Effects– Terror of the Autons alternate version with new FX and also CSO clean-up In both versions of Axos, several sequences from Episode Two are replaced with footager from a PAL VT studio tape, and the cliffhanger of Episode Three from the PAL VT Four. The Claws of Axos Episode One and Episode Four, along with The Dæmons Episode Four were remastered from their original PAL VTs (with elements of Axos One from an original studio tape).

On all 14 broadcast episodes, plus 5.1 sound on all extended versions of The Curse Of Fenric and Battlefield. Next up is ‘ The Claws of Axos‘. A colourful adventure with some hideous monstrosities, both alien and the Whitehall “England for the English” types. There is also an opportunity to watch an extended version of Episode 1. The additional scenes don’t particularly add much to the story but they are nice to have reinstalled. If you are so inclined then the full studio recording session is also available to watch at your leisure.In some cases, visual effects have been improved - improved exterior shots of the Pharos Project were used to replace models in some instances, including brand-new location shots filmed using drones. As with such improvements on the DVD range, these changes are optional and can be enabled or disabled at will. Serials have also been remixed in 5.1 surround where possible.
