The LetShuoer S12 is a pretty small and lightweight In-Ear Monitor with a pretty comfortable shape that fits perfectly to my average sized ear chonca. When it comes to the passive noise isolation, I can say that it is on a sufficient level that is suitable for the use in relative noise environments such like a bus or a train. To sum it up - 3 different frequency ranges bring 3 different qualities which don't really blend well together. The listening tests for this review were conducted using a mix of the iFi Go Blu wireless DAC/amp using LDAC and the Xduoo XD-05 Plus. Music was played of Spotify on Very High quality and from a mix of games, streamed shows and movies, and local video files with uncompressed audio. The LetShuoer S12 is the company’s latest In-Ear Monitor that is features a pretty large 14.8mm Diameter Planar Magnetic Driver, which is located inside a 5-axis CNC processed Aluminium Alloy Monitor shell that is equipped with a 2-Pin connector interface. Next to blon 03, these are SMALL, smaller than all of my kz’s, for anyone worrying about fit i’m finding them comfy and i have super difficult ears

LETSHUOER S12 Review — Headfonics

The upper midrange of the S12 is more highlighted and detailed compared to the lower midrange. Female vocals like Adel, Diana Krall or Edith Piaf are reproduced in a pretty lively, emotional and detailed way. The energetic upper midrange tuning creates a vivid and transparent overall midrange atmosphere, while only soprano voices can do sound a little bit sibilant and energy loaded from time to time when I do listen at higher volume levels. Overall Impressions: As you can probably tell from the frequency breakdown, the S12 is actually quite similar to the 7Hz Timeless. It offers a bit more warmth in the low and and brightness in the treble, while the mids are probably the closest between the three registers. For my personal taste, however, I find that the S12’s frequency tweaks and improved resolution tip it over the top and make it a more enjoyable listen overall. When it comes to the treble range, I can say that the LetShuoer S12 is the Planar Driver IEM with the more energetic signature. Both the upper and the lower treble regions of the S12 are shown with slightly higher sense of presence and extension. The 7HZ Timeless sounds in general a bit smoother and controlled compared to the LetShuoer S12 that’s sounds a bit more energy loaded and shouty. Treble: Treble performance on the S12 is good and a bit brighter than the Timeless. I sound like a broken record, but I prefer this enhancement as it increases the amount of perceived detail and steps percussion forward in the mix. I didn’t find the S12 to be fatiguing as a result, which just shows how well-tuned it really is. Increasing treble is a common way to give the impression of more detail, but in this case, I think Shuoer has succeeded in actually delivering it, while also raising the dB on the high-end. soundstage + fit clearly goes to the s12, when @Rikudou_Goku mentioned the timeless had like a soundstage/imaging that was entirely in the front that’s what i was experiencing without realising it on the timeless. I don’t think the s12 has particularly good soundstage/imaging just not particularly awful (although obviously mixed reports)Both the LetShuoer S12 and the TiN HiFi P2 do offer an efficient performance in terms of separation and placement of instruments and vocals. The S12 has the upper hand for the soundstage wideness, while both IEM’s are pretty similar when it comes to the depth of the stage. Inside its minimalist shells, the S12 uses a large 14.8mm planar magnetic driver. Planar magnetics are popular in the over-ear world due to their low distortion and high levels of detail. A well-tuned planar can offer a tremendous listening experience, so there has been an almost perpetual demand for high-quality planar magnetic option to enter the IEM space at accessible prices. The cable has a braided design and the wires are protected by a stiff and PVC insulation that shows a very low amount of microphonic effect. Treble - it's just ok, not much to say here. Might be too bright for some, it wasn't the case for me, however the cymbals might hurt once in a while. This range is nicely detailed and sparkly, timbre is probably a bit too metalic. You can easily eq high trebles down if that's too much for you. The cable itself is made out of silver-plated monocrystalline copper, it’s soft and overall great quality wire. I love it personally, might be one of the greatest. It’s also slightly heavier as it uses quite an amount of conductor. In the set, we’re also getting a nice, hard case with the manufacturer’s logo. Of course, they also included a nice variety of tips. You have not only silicon ones but also foams that I have ended up using. Everything is just right, no argument here.

Shuoer S12 is a very energetic IEM with fun V-shaped tuning, that has a lot of balance issues. It is an exceptionally engaging and detailed pair of earphones if you're mostly going to listen to electronic instruments, however it is really garbage in acoustic music, so consider your needs carefully, versatility isn't a strong side of the S12. The LetShuoer S12 shows a fairly expansive soundstage atmosphere with adequate sense of airiness, which is suitable for fairly precise positioning and separation of instruments and vocals. The soundstage has an above average wideness, while the depth of the stage is on a moderate level. Bass: The bass performance on these earphones reaches deep but remains tight. There’s a plentiful amount of sub-bass that results in a sub-woofer-like feeling, but the notes remain detailed and aren’t rounded off. Listening through Jonny Craig’s The Places We’ll Never Be was particularly enjoyable on these and leant key songs like Going Under much more body and presence. Even though the bass rise occurs relatively close to the lower mids, I didn’t find these to sound hazy or muddy. Instead, the mids and highs cut through cleanly. The midrange of both IEM’s does offer a good level of transparent and airiness, while the midrange of the LetShuoer S12 is a bit more upfront when I do listen to vocals and instruments.Instruments from pianos to cymbals, from flutes to cellos are reproduced in a pretty detailed and dynamic manner, while the extension and authority is quite decent compared to previous In-Ear Monitor with Planar Magnetic Driver that I have listen before. Summary - I had so many mixed feelings, because of how good the S12 is at certain things and how bad at the others. Sometimes I was really impressed with the fun bass tuning and I would dive deep into a piece to really spot all of the details, but the feeling that sometimes is just not right never really went away. I don't hate it - I actually tried hard to like it, but the tuning just didn't work for me - it doesn't mean it won't work for you. I listen to classical music most of the time and prefer bass light stuff, which places me in rather uncommon target. Keep in mind that most people really enjoy the V-shaped/Harman tuning. On the front (faceplate) is a relative clean surface that has a slightly protrudes area, which is part of the 2-Pin connector interface. The LetShuoer S12 offers pretty lively, dynamic and entertaining presentation. It has not a reference type and tuning, but the colorations that you will hear from the lows to the highs make it to an IEM that is suitable for a wide variety of genres. The lows are produced in a quite deep, pretty fast and impactful manner, while the midrange sounds pretty transparent, vivid and detailed thanks to the well pronounced upper midrange tuning. The treble range on the other hand is able to produce a good sense of airiness and sparkle, while the resolution and extension of this area is on an efficient level for a product at this price tag. The 2-Pin connectors do have a metal housing in gun metal colour that do sport left (transparent) and right (red) colour indicators.
