They could share a lot of screen time over a minimal number of meets, but if Columbo is “running into” the killer on multiple occasions, even with short meet times, that’s a sign that Columbo is deliberately bugging his antagonist by constantly bumping into him/her. It also helps when Columbo finds the killer at various different locations, as if the lieutenant is “following” the killer around his daily routine. Adam opens it and then begins the actual story. What is beautiful about Archers writing is his scenes are very vivid and descriptions are detailed. This book also doesn’t fail to make sure that the reader visualises what author wants them to see. Be it surroundings, clothes of characters, action taken by them etc. While taking a gentle stroll around the stunning Montoya estate, Columbo is given an almighty fright by a breakaway bull. Moving like a man possessed, Columbo saves his own skin by hurdling a low wall – only then to fully appreciate how adorably teeny and unthreatening the baby bull is, as he is jeered by walking stereotype Miguel. I’ve always been an ardent reader of Jeffrey Archer books which I have also mentioned in my previous posts ever since I laid my hand on Not a penny less, not a penny more. And hence any book that I come across by one of my favourite authors, I do grab a copy of it to delve in it. I found this one on the Kindle store and bought it. LeVar Burton ( Geordi La Forge) and Marina Sirtis ( Deanna Troi) do not appear in this episode. This is the first episode of the series in which Burton does not appear. I am a fan of a number of Jeffery Archer's other books such as 'As the Crow Flies', however this is not up to that same standard. I was lent this when I was a schoolboy and the spectre of how bad it was haunts me yet. Set in the 1960s it has a deeply silly plot about needing to stop the Soviets from getting the title deeds to Alaska because otherwise there wouldn't be any kind of a story at all. Well maybe it wasn't the title deeds exactly, but it was something along those lines, Herman Goring and a Swiss bank deposit box were involved, what more needs to be said the bank deposit box was the best character, dramatic, sombre, and poignant by turns not really, sigh. ?

The man who played Khan could have been a much flashier villain here.
