Oh yea this exists. Not that it matters to Nintendo’s bottom line but I am still very comfortable ignoring all their sports games from now on. Release a complete game at launch f* heads. I thoroughly enjoyed playing badminton and would even go as far as to say that it was my second favourite game in Nintendo Switch Sports. Ridiculous. Updates should be cool new additions on top of an already complete game (see Smash Ultimate or Mario Kart 8 deluxe) I'm kind of looking forward to a new Nintendo console coming out so they'll actually have to start making an effort with their games again to sell the thing In all seriousness, I feel like this game fell into the ether. Also, whilst I think free updates are a nice way of reminding people the game exists, I feel like the base game should probably be able to stand up on it's own. I am not so sure this game does that. Damn, people really hate this game with passion, incredible how such a good and wholesame game brings out the worst on some people, game's great, been enjoying it a lot since launch

To play Nintendo Switch Sports by yourself or with a friend, you'll need at least one set of Joy-Cons, and you’ll also need a leg strap to play the Shoot-Out game. If you don’t already have one, it comes bundled with the physical copy of the game or you can buy it separately. Although I stood relatively still when playing a match of badminton against my mom, making the bare-minimum motions with the Joy-Con necessary to trigger on-screen movements, my mom would lunge across the room to return a shot, throw her shoulder into each smash, and ultimately ended up winded because she wasn’t playing Switch Sports like a video game: she was playing it like the real thing. Similarly, when bowling, both my parents tended to walk up to the screen every time they threw the ball because the simplicity of it made those movements feel all the more natural to them – like they were bowling a round in real life. The special sauce that Wii Sports always had to bring in frequent gamers and the uninitiated alike is absolutely still here, and it’s the simplicity of the motion controls that makes it work. On another note it's weird Nintendo's made so many announcements this week and didn't put them in a Direct instead. Has literally been daily news. Mario Kart 8 Booster Wave 2 next? I loved building my own Sportsmate because you can really make your character your own and I'm definitely looking forwards to winning some more accessories through online play. It was a shame that I couldn’t test out the online capabilities but I will try it out as soon as it goes live and I'll be sure to update this review with what I find out. Brand new ranks, S Rank and ∞ Rank, are also being added to the online Pro League, which means you'll go up against tougher players online. Will you be aiming to be the best at online motion-controlled sports?

I will buy this game later, when it is cheaper and there won't be no more updates. The sports halls in this game are very beautiful. It feels very natural and still pretty modern and urban.

Playing a round of each sport took me about an hour in total and when playing with one other person, it took slightly longer than an hour. These are very much things that should’ve been in the base game. I plan on getting this once it’s done with all of the updates if it’s on sale because I’m tired of playing unfinished games Fan favourites like tennis and bowling have made a return, while four new games have also been added to the mix, those being volleyball, badminton, football and chambara sword-fighting. We’ve heard that golf could be coming to the game in a software update further down the line as well. These updates, although free, feel annoying to me. The game feels unfinished at launch when we get these updates this close after launch. Same with the mario sports titles.

steventonysmith Sorry but that's such an incredibly weak argument. Literally all of those games you mentioned felt complete at launch (don't know about Splat2 though, haven't played that one): Note: The Leg Strap is designed for use with the Ring Fit Adventure and Nintendo Switch Sports games. Very curious about those new moves in Volleyball. I kind’ve like how Volleyball has you moving in kind’ve a Just Dance posing style of immitation, but its pretty simple overall. Very interested to see what comes out of this. I went to an art gallery last week. Strangely, all the paintings were finished. There were no half-painted ones with signs reading, "please understand." No need to revisit the gallery: You pay a fee, you get the full experience. Interesting concept. When you first go to play the game, you'll need to create your own personalised character, otherwise known as a Sportsmate. Each Switch user can have their very own Sportsmate or you can play as a guest.

Another Nintendo Switch game to get you up and moving is Just Dance. Released with new tunes every year, you just need to follow the dance moves on the screen to win. Play by yourself or with up to 5 other people at once, it's one of the best party games in the world! Tennis can be played with up to four people at once, although no matter how many people are involved, you only get the choice to play doubles. If you owned a Leg Strap from the Ring Fit Adventure game it will work with Nintendo Switch Sports. It took me a bit of time to get accustomed to using both hands for different things at the same time, but once I did, I actually found it really fun. My favourite move had to be the diving header because it’s just so ridiculous, your Sportsmate jumps up into the ball and then faceplants the floor, pushing the ball straight ahead. Kinda disappointed to see Nintendo moving into the "finish it after release" business model... this is why I stopped buying games at launch. If you wait six months it'll have more features, less bugs, and probably a lower price to boot.I play Switch Sports every week for the new cosmetics.
