The characters. In my opinion, a book is only as good as its characters. And these ones were fun. Even if there were only three. Sue doesn't take this lying down! There's a common theme in Disney princess-oriented films and it usually revolves around the girls seeing a guy they never met and immediately thinking he's the one. That almost never works out well like with Pocahontas. The whole family will adore this fun-filled laugh-out-loud extravaganza with impressive puppets, catchy sing along pop songs and a dazzling larger-than-life dragon. Create a story with someone's help by each adding one word at a time. Build the story together by listening to each other and take turns deciding what word would come next. Despite all this oppressive oversight, Aurora still manages to do the exact thing she's been warned against her entire life by reaching for that sewing spindle, and boom, into the deep sleep she falls. (Cue the puns about this story being a snoozefest.) Even though Sleeping Beauty was released 22 years after Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Aurora is not much better than Snow White. She allows everything to happen to her, even before Maleficent puts her in a trance. Many Disney fans have complained about Aurora, claiming that her only notable trait is beauty. Sleeping Beauty hammers home the message that Aurora is the perfect woman, but she only has 18 lines of dialogue, which doesn't bode well for that message. This may stem from the fact that Aurora spends most of the film asleep, but some argue that the titular character should have more of a role in the movie.

The Worst Princess is about a princess named Sue! All she wants is to find her prince. She has done everything to prepare! One day, the prince comes and sweeps her away. Unfortunately, the princess life is not what she hoped for. The prince mistreats her and tells her to wear her dress and sit still. Instead, the princess would rather ride the horses and have fun. A dragon appears and instead of being fearful, Princess Sue befriends him and they escape from the prince and live happily ever after. Yet, while these walking, talking, and singing balls of happiness seem sweet and kind on the outside... what's not to say that they don't have a dark side? If one were to look closer at princesses, they might start to see a darker side. My daughter was given this book as a gift from her nursery teacher when she graduated just before she started school. I myself really liked this book. It was nice to have a book where the princess has her own mind and views on what she wants and isn't a princess that just wants to find the charming prince and live happily ever after. There is so little books on the market for little girls that have role models or as good a role model as you can get for a little child who loves to read books. In Princess and the Frog, firefly Ray believes that a star in the sky is the brightest lightning bug in the world and he falls in love with it, calling the star Evangeline. It's no secret that Cinderella comes from a terrible living situation in Cinderella. Her stepmother and stepsisters are cruel and nasty, and her father died when she was a young girl. However, many viewers criticize Cinderella's behavior and her devotion to always being kind. Cinderella is, in short, nice to everyone, including her ungrateful family. She takes every insult with a smile and always treats her stepmother with respect. This is an uncomfortable sight, especially considering today's standards and what children should be learning from movie characters.
