these are just kind of clunky to use especially for trying to make fine adjustments to your volume, in comparison to a volume knob or a slider. Dual headphones outputs and quiet keyboard action let you play when it suits you, without disturbing others. While realistic key actions are a dime a dozen, it is rare to find good quality ones without breaking the bank. The majority of decisions are given instantly, so you could get your new gear sooner than you thought! And for private practice, all FP-X models include headphones outputs and immersive ambience effects that make studying as inspiring as performing.

Sounds - Great choice that you can also ' Split' to have one sound for each hand or ' Layer' 2 sounds together. I have to admit, I am VERY torn in how to sum up my opinion on the Roland FP-30X; there are some things that are over the top fantastic about it, and there are some things I REALLY don’t like. Split mode can be accessed by the dedicated ‘Split’ button, and also allows you to choose a custom split point. Unlock the full power of the FP-30X through its incredible connectivity options or why not expand your performance potential even further through various expansive additions such as the KSC-70 stand and KPD-70 three-pedal unit (each sold separately) for the full experience. When the dedicated record button is pressed, you can play along to the metronome, and save your song as a MIDI file once it is completed.Its sleek matt black housing will not stand out like a sore thumb in the living room, which may be an advantage from an aesthetical point of view.

Apart from the remote control functionality, you also get access to arranger keyboard-style rhythms and accompaniments, and even some bonus sounds from the General MIDI 2 soundbank (which are inaccessible without the app). It’s hard to describe, but while comparing the FP-30X to its predecessor, I found that the FP-30 sounded like it had some of the mid-frequencies cut out, which made it sound thinner in comparison to the FP-30X.The ambiance effect is the FP-30X’s version of a reverb, and uses a hall algorithm to emulate the feeling of space. I have NO IDEA WHY Roland did this, but when I connect my iPad to the FP-30X using the USB cable; I lose the ability to change the volume on my iPad!

Those look like real scratches, but they are not, and can easily be removed with a piece of a wet cloth or your finger. if all you want to do is just sit down and play piano, the FP-10 DOES have the same action so that might be enough for you, and can save you some money. Roland didn’t make ANY improvements to the user interface, so this is still a big issue with me (but to be totally honest, it might NOT be an issue at ALL for you). This means that once the product is delivered, you'll have 60 days to decide that you definitely want to keep it.
