Formed in 2015 with the aim of bringing an alternative to the same old sandwich offering at lunch times, the Curry-in-a-Naan was launched. Delicious, authentic curry recipes, wrapped and sealed in a naan bread and eaten on the go. Tuk In Food’s Curry-in-a-Naan has already gained distribution in Tesco and Co-op petrol stations and has recently been launched into One Stop, Wilko and Nisa stores. The business, based on the north-eastern outskirts of Leicester, was launched in 2015 by Tom Cropper when he left his career in financial services to follow his passion for food.

The new convenience food has been developed by former banking co-workers Tom Cropper and Sanjay Sood-Smith – a former contestant on the UK version of the reality television programme The Apprentice – and will allow fans of curry to indulge their passion regardless of where they are. The new funding has come for First Enterprise - Enterprise Loans via the Midlands Engine Investment Fund (MEIF).

Each classic recipe is made from wholesome, natural ingredients. All are low in sugar, provide a source of a number of vitamins and are a good source of protein. The funding will help Tuk In Foods push ahead with its growth plans, which include a premium ready-meals range, an online delivery service and further collaboration with Michelin starred chef Sajeev Nair.
