Both of them had a lot going on and different struggles, but their development was done really well and i found myself rooting for both of them!I love seeing actual people on the cover, especially when so often books featuring Black characters don’t feature them on the cover. I also have to wonder how he put up with educating misogynistic and willfully ignorant boys around him for so long in spite of seeing them ignore his discussions on a loop until suddenly they care at the very end of the novel. Both in their last year of high school their paths finally crossed despite being in several classes together dating as far back as middle school.

Dani pushing away her friends after the party incident that haunts her is isolating, and makes her trauma feel even worse. When Prince and Dani meet, sparks fly but Dani doesn't want to get distracted- so she gives Prince only three dates to convince her he's worth falling for. came up with this plan to make Danielle fall in love with him after 3 dates that she began noticing him as well. Just when I say I don't enjoy contemporary young adult books anymore, the reader-verse proves me so wrong. it’s not even super sad, especially when compared to other books i’ve read, but their story was so sweet and i fell in love with both of them🥹 i fell in love with the story and the writing, too, and i did not want to put this book down!Thank you to the author, Simon and Schuster Children’s Publishing, and NetGalley for an advanced copy such that I could share my honest opinions. Prince is passionate about music and romance and gives relationship advice on his Love Radio show- however, his own love life is looking a bit sad. She’s also struggling to explain to her parents why she hasn’t been hanging out with her friends because that would mean talking about the assault.
