As far as the machine’s operating battery is concerned, I bought the sealed lead acid battery. I have yet to run it low on charge. I plug it in to charge every night, and it is ready by the morning. Spinfire Battery warranty matches the standard 2-yr or optional 5-yr machine warranty vs 6 months for SLA in both cases. However, our supplier, Dakota Lithium, has agreed to be responsible for topping up the battery warranty to 11 Years! Once again, these settings are more than sufficient. Set the spin level lower to replicate a slice shot or increase it to bring heavy topspin that won’t disappoint on either end of the spectrum. Feed Rate (2-15 seconds) Also, what I love about this machine and how it helps my teaching is it’s so much more effective when standing next to my student !

This machine has been a sensation in the States and Australia and is slowly but surely becoming a real hit in the UK!If you’re a current user of the Spinfire Pro 2 v1, you may have stumbled upon the latest v2 machine and wonder whether you should upgrade yours for the latest features. You can also stagger the ball delivery between 2 and 15 seconds, again allowing you to adjust the pace of play from beginner to advanced levels. Finally, I appreciate the simplicity of Spinfire’s offering. Rather than selling several models, they offer two machines, and it’s easy to decide between them. If you’re in the US, it’s even easier because they only sell the Spinfire Pro 2 in the states. Remote control works behind the baseline now! Neither my V1 or V2 machine has ever jammed (25,000 total V1 balls). Smaller carousel and second grab handle are nice improvements, as is the slot to store the remote control. V1 machine was very heavy with an internal SLA battery. External lithium battery is a huge improvement.

I highly recommend this machine and, if the company offers additional features in the future, I hope it will be offered as an upgrade to existing machines. I also recommend the balls, although they are higher than regular balls. You won’t be disappointed.

Should You Buy a Spinfire Pro 2 Ball Machine?

However, if you are in any way well versed in using ball machines, then the Spinfire Pro 2 is a really attractive option. When I hit the court, I want to travel as light as possible, and cutting the battery’s weight in half is a win, especially when opting for the internal option. I also appreciate how the battery doesn’t require monthly charging to maintain its lifespan. If you go through a period where you don’t use your machine often, you could kill your SLA battery if you don’t remember to charge it. Finally, I appreciate that it has a lengthy warranty even if you don’t opt for the extended option. I've been using this for several months now and it's brilliant. The machine is easy to tow or push and load into a car. It is a couple of pounds heavier with the normal lead acid battery than a couple of other makes of machine, but the ability to use both AC and battery power using the outboard connectors solves that problem neatly. Without the installed battery, the machine is light and easily lifted into and out of a car. It can run on AC, which I use (the courts at which I play have AC outlets) or on outboard battery, including a lighter and more powerful lithium battery. Thus, if I use a court without AC power, I can simply plug the separate battery into the machine. I am also glad to have the lithium battery. Its a pretty heavy machine, so having a lighter, external battery makes lugging it around easier. My longest session so far is about 3 hours, and the battery showed no signs of slowing down. Most machines will feed balls between 20mph and 95mph, so consider the audience that it will be used for. Most advanced players will want to replicate match situations in practice, so having a machine that can hit flat, topspin and slice balls is a great asset. Both of these tools will improve your data collection during a practice session and help you get a better grasp of your progress.
