Kailh Box Jade Switches are the newest addition to Kailh’s line of mechanical keyboard switches. They are a step up from the Kailh Blue switches, with a shorter travel distance and a higher actuation point. They are also available in both linear and tactile varieties. The Kailh Pro range of switches is listed as Kailh’s more professional and higher-end models. They do not feature the Kailh Box design and I found they do have slightly more keycap wobble. Kailh Linear Key Switches Heavier switches are better for gaming because they offer more resistance and require more force to activate. Lighter switches are better for typing because they’re easier to press down and don’t require as much force. This makes them ideal for gaming or typing in silence. Linear switches are smooth and silent, making them perfect for gaming. Hope you all liked this, it's definitely my longest post ever so feel free to critique my formatting too ;)

If you have made it through this whole thing you must love this hobby as much or more than I do. Any suggestions are welcome as I'm new to reviewing pretty much anything. I hope I was at least able to help someone decide between any of these switches if you were curious about any of them. Travel - measured in mm and represents the total travel of the key switch. Most mechanical key switches have a travel of around 4mm, with some slim keyboards having reduced travel. Note that there is always a tolerance of around 0.6mm in these values. Some switches designed for gamers offered reduced travel resulting in a faster response time.Even though they have a smooth feel and a nice tactile bump, they do not sound as good as either the Box White or Box Jade and have a slightly rattly metallic sound. These are the most basic Kailh switches and closely resemble the corresponding Cherry MX or Gateron switches. I would recommend you look beyond these in favour of the Kailh Box switches. The box design offers a smoother feel with less keycap wobble due to the design of the stem.

Before wrapping this up I want to talk about the stem and housing wobble, though there is none in the latter case. Of the three spare Box Jades I have, none of them exhibit any wobble between the top and bottom housing. By the way, the means by which the top and bottom housing snap together is also different between at least some Kailh switches and the traditional Cherry design. Additionally, the Corsair STRAFE RGB MK2 is fully programmable so you can create your own custom macros or key bindings.I also still make mistakes on it because the typing experience really is different, and sometimes bottoming out the key seems to make it take longer on the return travel. This can be really awkward in the beginning but as I type on the board I definitely don't feel the return as much as I did in the beginning. I created a scene and a profile in OBS Studio that captures both the recording microphone and the headset microphone to two separate streams, and then I duplicated the device captures to add the RNNoise filter. This allows me to have four separate streams, two per microphone with one being an unfiltered version and the other being with just RNNoise enabled. With an FFmpeg script I have the video removed from the recording, the audio converted to FLAC, and the audio made mono. (OBS Studio seems to only be able to record in stereo, even when the source is mono.) Cherry MX Blues also have a stronger tactile bump than Kailh Box Jade Switches. What to look for when buying?

These babies are holy dang tactile, I used other words when describing to friends but I think holy dang is pretty good. The first one that comes to mind is the KBC Poker 2. This keyboard is a great option for those looking for a compact design with a lot of features. It comes with Kailh Box Jade switches and offers full n-key rollover, meaning you can press as many keys as you want at once and they will all register. Kailh, or officially Dongguan Kaihua Electronics was founded in 1990. They specialise in electronic and electric switches. Whilst Kailh do manufacture clones of the original Cherry MX design, they have also developed several unique designs themselves, such as with their BOX design. Kailh Key Switch Designs Kailh Standard Cherry MX Switches The Box White is a linear switch with a light actuation force and a smooth, linear travel. It’s a great switch for gaming and typing.Upper Housing - The upper housing is made from a plastic polymer to a very high level of tolerance, guiding the stem to create a smooth vertical movement with a negligible wobble. You will notice that with very cheap keyboards, the keys feel very unstable when typing. They come in many different colors, so you can match them to your keyboard’s theme or your own personal style. I received both BOX Jades and Navies so naturally the first thing that I did was open up the bags and test them out individually, comparing them to their counterparts the BOX White and Pale Blues. The first thing I noticed was that the Navies had a much more cushioned feel to them and the Jades had a more pronounced tactile bump (I would attribute this to the differences in the spring weights as generally speaking a lighter spring allows the bump to be more pronounced).

With a similar internal design to the Cherry MX Silent Red, the switch includes a rubber dampener to reduce noise when they bottom out. Unlike Kailh Box switches, these feature a stem that is a circular shape rather than a box. This did not seem to introduce any more or less keycap wobble. Kailh Pro Purple
