While it is a comic club, I love the different artistic styles that get showcased here, including colored pencils, acrylic paints, photography, watercolors, and so on. Momma went to the fridge to start making the Muenster cheese sandwich, but she got the wrong kind of cheese (monster cheese) by accident. Melvin and Naomi often take the spotlight through their arguments and pursuits of getting published, but all the kids get a chance to shine by showing off their own collaborative comics, which also have ongoing stories and evolve throughout the whole series. Regardless, Cat Kid Comic Club continues with the genius of the first two volumes and evolves it even more. This is such a creative series, where the baby frogs get to share their perspectives using their medium of choice.

I wish DC would publish more superhero GNs for tweens like Superman Smashes the Klan and Superman of Smallville. It’s tamer, not as funny (either in a witty sense or potty talk humor) and the main storyline didn’t move very quickly at all. Yes, I know they have potty humor at times but the boys who didn’t like to read are racing through them to get to the next one.I used to feel the same way about the poor spelling and other grammatical issues with Captain Underpants until I realized that kids with dyslexia live that all the time. The Cat Kid Comic Club series is the continuing saga of 21 creative baby frogs and the club they share with Molly and their friends Li’l Petey and Flippy. Utilizing humor and drama, prose and poetry, they are illustrated in different media including acrylics, pastels, colored pencils, felt-tip markers, clay, hand-made cardboard sculptures, photographs, pipe cleaners, construction paper collages, and cookies. With this mindset, there's nowhere to go but up because failing is just another part of the process.

She took a star because she didn't like the reporter recording all the chaos and thought it was mean spirited. The Baby Frog Squad's original spaceship from Book 1 got sat on accidentally, but replaced with the robot frog. On page 6 considered to be inside the comic and page 125 if you're talking about the whole book, there's a haiku explaining haikus. Wacky comic book fun continues in week 3 of Cat Kid’s Comic Club in which comics are submitted to a publisher with different results.

For parents who disliked the deliberate misspellings of the Captain Underpants series, you don't have to worry about that with this series.
