Big "NO!": Scrooge confesses that he doesn't hate Christmas as much as he lets on, but when Dewey asked about Santa, he screeches out "NO!" and insults the man. Sunday After Christmas-Honor is given Joseph the Guardian (i.e. also called Righteous Joseph), David the King (the son of Jesse) and Iakovos, the (step-brother) of Christ, the 1st bishop of Jerusalem. Also on Jan 1st, St. Basil the Great is remembered. Born around 330 A.D. under the reign of Constantine the Great. As an un-baptized person, Basil spent 19 years in Athens studying philosophy, rhetoric, astronomy and other secular disciplines. In his mature years, he was baptized in the Jordan River. He became ultimately Bishop of Caesarea in Cappadocia, died unfortunately young, at age 50. He was a great champion of the faith of moral purity and a great theological mind. We are also still given no clue as to what Scrooge's beef with Santa is all about. This one is also resolved in a Season 3 episode, "How Santa Stole Christmas!".

Scrooge goes berserk on the giant Santa figure put up in his mansion. It was most likely NOT part of his Jerkass facade. Art Shift: The end credits show the episode's events in a different, "classic Disney" visual style, with soft, round designs instead of the show's usual angular ones.Young Donald complains, "This is the most confusing family," a shot at the rather elaborate family tree created by Carl Barks. Young Donald’s original plan for Christmas was to spend it in his room, writing one great song. He even writes it on an electric guitar that gets de-tuned by Dewey.

Time-Travel Tense Trouble: The caption for the Once More, with Clarity scene says "11 minutes ago... in the future". Emo Teen: Dewey meets his uncle Donald when he was his age, going through a grunge phase. He wears dark, angsty clothing and plays tortured songs on an electric guitar. His guitar skills are decent enough but his voice alas is no good. Dewey's first words upon seeing Donald are to describe him as "some weird emo kid." Good Is Not Soft: While it's questionable if Scrooge intended for the Ghost of Christmas Past to suffer so much, and readily reconciles when given the opportunity, he makes no apology for leaving him alone in the past either given what the spirit tried to do to him. Christmas has always been special to me and my favourite time of year. Main reasons being that it means lots of family time and reliving the nostalgia of singing and listening to carols, watching Christmas films and animations, playing festive games and opening presents. Will never tire of it and nothing will ever change that for the world.

Tropes:

Trapped in the Past: This is what Christmas Past wants to do to Scrooge - and what happens to him when Scrooge steals his time-traveling umbrella. Death Becomes Her is about Police Officer Stacey Winters who can see death, she can see the people he visits and after trial and error realises that there is nothing she can do to stop him. It reminded me of something I read a long time ago about you can’t cheat death and that if you interfere in the process it will always find another way.

Dramatic Irony: After spending much of Christmas Eve night brooding in his room, Teen Donald promises Teen Della they won't spend any more Christmases apart. Sadly, both Dewey and the audience know this isn't true. The House on Savage Lane’ is satisfying gruesome with a twist that is practically guaranteed to creep up out of nowhere and catch the reader unawares, but in the same vein, ‘Jocelyn’s Story’ is a twisted tale of a beautiful lady and her aspirations for Betty Grable’s vital statistics that doesn’t quite have the surprising punch of the former story. Six Geese A-Laying- In Genesis, the creation story is told in which God takes six days to create the world; this symbol recognizes those words. The Grinch: Scrooge seems to live up to his namesake, calling Christmas nothing but commercialism and misplaced sentiment, flying into an absurd rage at an ornamental Santa Claus. He doesn't actually believe this, it's just a facade so he'll be left to party with his friends. To clarify, he doesn't hate Christmas, but he does have a problem with Santa (he knows what he did). Scrooge does, however, come to realize it's still missing the point of the holiday to dodge your family. Lampshade Hanging: In the past, Dewey spins a line about being a very distant relative. Young Donald remarks how annoyed and confused he is by their extended family.Twelve Drummers Drumming- The final verse refers to the the doctrine of the Apostle's Creed and the twelve points included therein (belief in God the Father almighty, belief in Jesus Christ his only Son - our Lord, that Jesus was conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary, that He suffered under Pontius Pilate, and was crucified, died and was buried, then he descended into hell, that he rose again the third day, that he ascended into heaven, that he is seated at the right hand of the Father, that he is to come to judge the living and the dead, belief in the Holy Ghost, belief in the holy catholic Church and the communion of saints, belief in the remission of sins, and belief in the resurrection of the flesh and life eternal.) Eight Maids A-Milking- The maids represent the eight Beatitudes, which can be found in the passage of the Bible that talks about the Sermon on the Mount. Condensed, they are: Blessed are the poor in spirit, blessed are the meek, blessed are they who mourn, blessed are they that hunger and thirst after justice, blessed are the merciful, blessed are the clean of heart, blessed are the peacemakers, and blessed are they that suffer persecution for justice's sake.

While Jen tries to figure out why Thomas's ghost still remains, she also learns how to fall in love. I would have been perfectly happy if she fell for the handsome caretaker, but he's not the lead in the movie. The '90s: Given Preteen Donald's grungy outfit - complete with a t-shirt that strongly resembles the Nirvana smiley face - it's possible this is when Dewey's encounter takes place. Whatever Louie feels he must (and claims he can) explain in his letter to Santa. Considering that Louie is a Schemer to the point where he's known as the evil triplet, it's likely more than just one incident and probably includes various incidents of questionable morality from prior episodes as well.The five golden rings rerepresented the first five books of the Old Testament, which describe man's fall into sin and the great love of God in sending a Savior. A second level of observances during these 12 days are commemorations of people from the earliest decades of the spread of the Christian faith after the death and resurrection of Christ and Pentecost, such as St. Stephen (one of the first of the 7 deacons) who became the first martyr in Christianity (December27); and the “seventy” as they are known, these being the 70 apostles that the 12 apostles trained and sent off to travel and preach (January 4).
