For those unfamiliar with the concept, the game revolves around building your play deck as the game progresses (read our review of Dominion for a great entry to this genre). Everything is done very professionally with this company and always lets you know every step of the process. Since you will go through the hazard deck three times, a lot of the strategy of the game lies in which cards you choose to encounter at various points throughout the game. Robinson Crusoe himself is represented by an 18-card starting deck, which you will be modifying during the game by overcoming a deck of hazards through three levels of difficulty until he is ready to face the two pirates in his final challenge.

Each time you cycle through the Robinson deck, Robinson will age, meaning a new detriment from the ageing deck is added to your deck. Failing to hit the number you need to complete a task means you have to pay the difference in these tokens, but it also means you can clear cards out of your deck that you don’t want.
