The story is really cool, and most of its artwork is incredible, i mean Steve Epting and Nick Dragotta on a Marvel book, awesome. Things kick off with a Dark Reign tie-in miniseries, in which Hickman immediately gets into the head of Mr. This began to change in the '90s and 2000s, at which point the average reader could easily get lost trying to keep up with the hundreds of interconnections and shared plots among the dozens of series published by Marvel Comics. Hickman is king here, god knows how he managed to fit so much character development in between a family, friends and enemies and still pull off one of the best reads ever! The Bridge, reality hopping, and confrontation with Norman Osborne is such a interesting and great way to begin the run, and sets up the first arc well.

As the team contends with Dark Reign, an older Franklin arrives from the future with an ominous warning! This is no exaggeration; opening the box, tearing off the plastic and opening this legendary book for the first time was transformative.Reading further, though, one arrives at the real conclusion, which is nothing short of spectacular and surely conforms to the expectations of all who’ve been following the plot.

Not much else to the book save all the regular series and variant covers and some script pages by Hickman which are a neat little insight into his writing process. Though I ought to also mention that, of all the "deaths" of comic book characters since "The Death of Superman" (and even before that, with, say, Warlock, or Bucky Barnes), this particular death was probably the shortest--at least, as much as I've been paying attention to that sort of thing, which admittedly isn't all that much.Most of what's collected in volume one of the omnibus sees the F4 going on seemingly unconnected adventures, with the occasional flashes of the conflicts to come. Omnibus usually includes bonus materials such as the creation of the work, alternative covers, sketches, comic scripts, and more. A cool concept that Dan Harmon swiped and has used to much better effect, in my opinion, in Rick and Morty.

They both have that great balance of making individual issues stand on their own while also weaving storylines over the course of years. Reed Richards tries to solve everything, which leads him to join a bunch of Reed Richards's from other universes who banded together to solve everything.
