Eventually, a new agent liked what she saw, and they sold it to Transworld, who not only bought this book but also a sequel yet to be written at the time. Thus begins a story about a criminal gang with a turnover of more than a billion pounds, another missing girl, the National Crime Agency, several murders, people smuggling, incest, drug dealing, prostitution and almost every crime you can think of. As of yet, none of Simon Kernick’s works have been made into films, which is a absolute travesty as they would keep an audience engaged with the non-stop action that they provide.I really enjoyed this short story and after reading this I would be tempted to pick up a full length novel by Kernick, the best thing about this was it is currently on kindle for free. He arrived on the scene with his highly acclaimed debut novel The Business of Dying, and his big breakthrough came with his novel Relentless which became the bestselling thriller of 2007. In the second novel of the series A Good Day to Die, Milne is living in the Philippines under an assumed identity. A good short story , infact very short but at 49pence I suppose that was to be expected , I have a feeling we have met the female character in this book in a recent Kernick novel . Then he wrote a second book which became a huge tome of 700+ pages, and it was also unreadable, except for one chapter, that he kept.

After the initial promise of this wonderful character, Simon Kernick did what very few authors have ever done and wrote about someone else. British author Simon Kernick shows every sign of being a major talent…Powerful prose, tight plotting and a clever fair-play puzzle add up to a remarkable first effort. Wealth, good looks, a beautiful wife and children and, in the chaotic world of British politics, a real chance of becoming Prime Minister. After writing the book, Simon sent it to an agent who initially was interested in it, but the agent straight out rejected the story. It is written in short punchy chapters and packed with twists including one major jaw dropping twist at the end.

Although I worked out where things were going very quickly, I still had a lot of fun watching the specifics of how everything came together. An emotionally punchy domestic noir blended with the pace and action of a high-octane thriller, WE CAN SEE YOU will keep you breathlessly on the edge of your seat, wondering which character you can trust, if any at all, until the final brilliant twist! But things don’t go to plan and Ray is soon on the run again and there is only one person he can trust. I was very quickly transported to the Caribbean, to a beach bar, where we meet our characters of the book.After getting reporter Emma Neilson to help, he finds out that the murder involved people of great influence and provides for interesting plot twists and excitement. One of the killers from the previous books has risen up the greasy pole and is likely to become Prime Minister. S., Canada and Australia, he came back to the UK and enrolled in Brighton Polytechnic, where he graduated in 1991 with a degree in Humanities.

Although it is a short story, I really liked the format of the chapter changes entitles him and her.In Simon Kernick’s debut novel The Business of Dying, we are introduced to this fascinating individual. In the end, and after a few near misses he solves the crimes, but is forced to leave the UK with a fake passport and a new appearance. After graduation with a degree in humanities in 1991, he worked some other odd jobs like laborer building roads, barman, fruit picker, and Christmas tree uprooter. This book is a good insight into the writing of Simon Kernick, an author who deserves more plaudits.
