What truly sets "Le Male Le Parfum" apart is its impeccable balance. The rich, oriental base notes of vanilla, tonka bean, and woods create a velvety foundation that is both comforting and enticing. Le Male Le Parfum is a July 2020’s perfume. Its distribution began in Italy, Spain, the Middle East, and the countries of the Benelux Union. Its creative concept made the Le Male universe abandon the focus on sailors so that everyone could turn their gazes toward the Captain of the vessel. In the opening there is an immediate blast of cardamom and sweetness, neither of which ever actually relent through the course of this fragrance. I also get something citrusy I can't quite put my finger on -- orange, maybe? Shortly thereafter, the vanilla, iris and lavender make themselves known with the cardamom. At this point it becomes fairly linear as the mid and the drydown do not have drastic changes, though I do like how I catch different aspects every now and then, including that elusive citrusy note. The main change I notice in the fragrance as the hours pass is the ratio of the cardamom, iris, vanilla and amber as the vanilla and amber oh so slowly take over. But all of those facets are noticeable throughout the entire wearing of the fragrance, and even on my clothes discarded in the closet the next day. I get about 6 hours moderate projection, with the first hour being very strong. After that it fades to a skin scent, but even then I can still detect cardamom/iris/vanilla/amber. This used to be the most hyped Le Male in the line. Then Le Male Elixir came out and everyone lost their minds. Does Le Male Le Parfum still have what it takes to be a contender in 2023? Second, the fragrance is not sweet; it is woody and slightly powdery. It doesn't take long for the iris to show its drier side. The point here is that the iris is creamy and elegant. There is no intention to overpower and bring out that famous sharpened pencil shaving smell. On the skin, there is a floral-aromatic-spicy smell with an air of maturity. This fragrance is rendered useless in cold temperatures, no matter how heavy you may spray it—it smells like a completely different fragrance, hardly worth mention in such conditions. OG Le Male is more unique and versatile...b/c it can handle almost any occasion in almost any season...except hot/humid outdoors. And even the current juice being sold gets you 7-8 hours no problem. With this fragrance, the French designer has succeeded in bringing floral notes to traditional masculine scents, surprising us with a combination that is unprecedented and magnetic on the skin, with renewed reminiscences of the aromas of old barbershops and timeless, modern touches. Another of its virtues is its extraordinary durability: a single spray is enough to keep the fragrance alive for several hours. Sweet, spicy, and a little synthetic sharpness. When I first got this le male it was my first le male ever (and a blind buy!) I didn’t know what I was getting into at first because all I heard at the time was that this Le Male was the Le Male to get for a “sexy” fragrance. I got it in the mail and sprayed it and I absolutely hated it at first because for some reason, it smelled way too strong of some synthetic… vinegar…? And the dry down was horrendous making me smell like a fresh balsamic salad from salad and go. I let this beautiful juice sit in storage as I wanted to give it another chance in the future (and I was too lazy to return it at the time). Come around this year, I sprayed it on my wrist again, and it smelled AMAZING, the spicy cardamom punched me in the face with some Iris and woods. I fell in love. I wore it on a date with my wife recently and she really liked it. The cardamom reminded her of middle eastern deserts and dishes she grew up eating.

After the 2 hour blissful projection, it seems to downgrade to a hardly detectable skin-scent for not more than a couple hours thereafter, at least on my skin;

This is a great fragrance to add to any fall/winter rotation. Sweet and spicy with a big dose of powdery-ness to set it apart. The scent is lovely, the performance is superb, and it has that compliment-getting, mass appealing nature that almost everyone can enjoy. When it comes to JPG, this fragrance, along with Ultra Male and Le Male Elixir are the big three; and it definitely earned its spot there. Thirdly, the fragrance is not aggressive; it is consistent and seems to seek a level of elegance. In other words, it is not the first choice of young clubbers whose perfume competes for space in the nostrils of others. Not strong enough to push through a suit for a good length of time on special occasions. I have better options for that. For me, Le Male Le Parfum is a big surprise! Its fragrance could be in any bottle from more traditional brands, such as Lanvin or Rochas, and the public would never say that it is a flanker from the Le Male pillar. And perhaps this is exactly the attempt to reconnect with an older audience, something that has been abandoned by the brand's communication over the last 15 years. This fragrance is a amazing and wearing this today was an invigorating experience, and I can't help but share my thoughts about it. I did feel, however, that people around me couldn't fully appreciate it, and I suspect it was due to my cautious application of just 2 sprays. Next time, I'm planning to be a bit more liberal and go for 3-4 sprays to ensure the scent is more noticeable.

THE SAILOR STRIPED TOP

This is a sure winner for me. I got a tiny sample from a department store many many years ago and immediately after I smelled it, went and got the large bottle. Lost interest over time just cause it didn't last long and I had different stuff and just remembered how good it smelled. Overall, I’d say that this is definitely a fragrance meant for mature noses and not everyone will like it. It is definitely not a safe blind buy but if you love the smell of powdery spices and woods you wont regret it. What I find particularly appealing is how versatile this fragrance is. I use it for both clubbing and school, which makes it a valuable addition to my collection. The versatility of a fragrance means you can confidently wear it in various situations. Before my little rant, Le Male Le Parfum is a good fragrance so do not get me wrong! Its a sweet spicy vanilla scent and has a very nice cardamom note. Cardamom gives fragrances a sexy intimate, datenighty character. As it dries down, to my nose the spices emerge more and i have to admit i prefer the opening. As much as I'm a fan of the original Le Male (as well as most of Gaultier's fragrances), unfortunately, I didn't get to know even 50% of this pillar. But I can assure you that Le Male Le Parfum is one of the best compositions released in the last decade within this family of sailors.
