Description

You can stream audio from your device to the speaker using either the player control buttons of your device or the control buttons of the remote control (see diagram of Remote Control – buttons #12, #13, and #14). Enable your Bluetooth device to search for a new device to pair with. Select 'TUK by Kanto' from the list of Bluetooth devices available for pairing. It’s also worth noting that there’s a headphone amp included in these speakers, with a 3.5mm connection on the front. Honestly, it’s not a strong point here. A stand-alone headphone amp is a much better option. The included amp sounds fine, but buying these speakers to use the headphone amp is like buying a Ferrari to drop your kids at school. Verify that the volume of the speaker is not at its minimum level. Turn the volume up using the knob on the front or the volume controls on the remote. A cookie set by YouTube to measure bandwidth that determines whether the user gets the new or old player interface.

There’s a fine balance between control that’s too granular and control that’s too heavy. Unfortunately, the TUK come down on the heavy side. We were really hoping this issue would have been fixed for this update, but sadly, it’s still there. Either way, if you do like serious volume, you’re not going to feel short changed here. With an RMS wattage of 130, and a peak of 260, the TUK can really crank it out when called upon to do so. If you want to find out what on Earth RMS and peak mean, don’t worry: we’ve got you. After you adjust the volume on the speakers, you should hear the audio from your TV being played through the speakers. If you hear noise, silence, or choppiness you may need to change the audio settings of the TV box, TV app, Blu-ray player, etc. as well. Follow a similar process to navigate to the audio settings of the device or app you are using and switch the audio mode to stereo or two channel. If you still do not hear any audio after making these changes, refer to the Audio Troubleshooting Guide. TUK supports data streams up to 24-bit / 96 kHz resolution via Optical Toslink. Connecting Bluetooth Acoustic Panels and Treatments: Your room is as important as your stereo equipment so acoustic treatments goes a long way in improving the overall performance. When connecting audio cables the Power Switch must be turned OFF. After connecting all cables, the unit can be turned ON. When the volume is high, this system can produce noise levels that could permanently damage your hearing. TUK is a self-powered speaker system. Do not connect the speaker inputs to the outputs of a stereo amplifier. Damage may occur. Use only the power cord provided with TUK. Setting up TUK Start-up / Shut-down time If "TUK by Kanto" cannot be found while searching for devices on the source, power-cycle the speaker by switching the Power Switch OFF then ON and try these steps again.Detail is perhaps ‘good plus’ rather than outstanding, but the loudspeaker goes instead for speed of delivery than sheer weight of information on offer. On balance, I like that position for the TUK, as it makes it all the more listenable, and I’d rather this sheer speed of delivery, than blandly listening to well-produced aural wallpaper replayed tiresomely, but with tireless detail. Ensure the speakers are in Bluetooth mode. Press the knob on the front of the speakers or use the remote to cycle through the different inputs to select Bluetooth. Turn on the TV and navigate to the audio settings within the on-screen menu. Refer to your TV's manual if you are unsure of how to find the audio settings within your TV. All this is a way of saying a confident, ‘yes’ to all the above. I would be happy recommending the TUK to a family friend. I would be happy with it being the dorm-fi system. It might be a tougher call talking about it in terms of a downshifting audiophile, wanting to swap out tens of thousands worth of equipment. I wouldn’t completely discount this speaker as a kind of extreme de-audiophiling, I think the downshifter is more likely to opt for ‘more of the same, only smaller’ rather than this level of change. As if the excellent sound quality wasn’t enough, the TUK speakers come with a rudimentary EQ. You can use the included remote to adjust the bass and treble. As handy as this is, and as much as we love having the option, it brings up an issue that hasn’t been fixed from other Kanto speakers, like the Kanto SYD ( full review here). It feels like it’s very hard to get any precision when adjusting the volume or the EQ. Each tap of the volume control results in a leap that’s larger than we would have liked; you’re going up an entire foot, as opposed to increasing the volume by inches.

Within audio settings, change the audio output to PCM, stereo, or two channel. This option may be called "Audio Output Mode", "Digital Audio Output Mode", or "Digital Output Audio Format" depending on TV brand.

If pairing is successful, the BT LED will remain solid. You will not need to pair the same Bluetooth device again - 'TUK by Kanto' will remain on your device list until you remove it from the list. Active Crossover is disabled by default. You can activate Active Crossover by pressing and holding the SUB button for 5 seconds. The front panel LED will blink twice to indicate that the crossover has been activated. You can deactivate the crossover by pressing and holding the SUB button for 5 seconds. The front panel LED will blink once to indicate that the crossover has been deactivated. The crossover is disabled by default or when power is removed.
