A deftly crafted and expertly paced thriller that will keep readers guessing (and terrified) until the very end.I could sympathize with William and Erin Wooler with their struggles in trying to handle a child who is neurodiverse.

I did appreciate the constant new suspects, but at the same time, a lot of the them felt random and useless. As the lines between reality and the movie plot begin to blur in this tautly written novel, family secrets begin to emerge that if revealed, might lead to unforeseen (and possibly deadly) consequences for everyone. Once again, the reigning Canadian queen of page-turning domestic thrillers, Shari Lapena, has showcased her exceptional storytelling in Everyone Here is Lying. The pages seemed to fly by, and I found myself eagerly turning each one, desperate to uncover the truth behind Avery's disappearance. This book also closed out with an enjoyable ending that I thought was very fitting (and I’m so glad it worked out the way it did).Effective time management is a must, because once you’ve started Everyone Here Is Lying, there’s no stopping until the last page. William Wooler has been having an affair, an affair that ended this afternoon at a motel up the road. If the walls could talk, the neighbours would be shocked at all the dark secrets that their neighbours have kept in the dark right under their noses. This book is so bingeable so be prepared to lose yourself for a few hours in the lives of these families in Stanhope. We love how each new character she introduces finds a way to shock us with the dark truth hiding behind a squeaky-clean facade.

If you decide to pick up this book and visit the neighbourhood, be forewarned: William Wooler is not the only one attempting to pull the wool over everyone’s eyes! I wish there had been one more chapter to spell it all out so I could get the satisfaction of seeing the villain get what they deserve. Quite frankly, it fell a little flat in comparison to what everyone thought had happened which left me somewhat dissatisfied. It affected me personally as my son developed behavioural problems at nine and was diagnosed with ADHD. The Goodreads giveaway is still open in Canada for another couple of days if you want to get in on it! I consider Lapena the master of the unputdownable page-turner because she is always good at finding empathy at the center of her suspense while managing to orchestrate twists and revelations that have my jaw dropping!
