Milo loves spending time with his best friend, Jay. But when a new girl called Suzi moves in next door, Milo starts to feel left out. The jealous feeling gets stronger and stronger - until suddenly, a GREEN-EYED MONSTER pops up beside him! Soon, the monster is poisoning Milo's thoughts. It won't leave him alone! Like many other parents and teachers, I was happy to see there was another Big Bright Feelings book from Tom Percival; he seems to capture children's emotions so clearly and to find stories that will engage young children and support them in navigating those feelings.

The typical firsts of school are here: riding the bus, making friends, sliding on the playground slide, counting, sorting shapes, laughing at lunch, painting, singing, reading, running, jumping rope, and going on a field trip. While the days are given ordinal numbers, the song skips the cardinal numbers in the verses, and the rhythm is sometimes off: “On the second day of kindergarten / I thought it was so cool / making lots of friends / and riding the bus to my school!” The narrator is a white brunette who wears either a tunic or a dress each day, making her pretty easy to differentiate from her classmates, a nice mix in terms of race; two students even sport glasses. The children in the ink, paint, and collage digital spreads show a variety of emotions, but most are happy to be at school, and the surroundings will be familiar to those who have made an orientation visit to their own schools. Every child's bookshelf should contain his books. We learn about the friendship between Milo and Jay. Then we discover and how the friendship is challenged when Suzi moves into the house over the road. However, Milo isn’t jealous of her big house but of her friendship with Jay. Tom cleverly weaves the story round Milo’s anxiety and fear of losing his closest friend, purely because he is jealous of his new friendship with Suzi. Look at the front cover of the book. Who or what is Milo’s Monster? What do you think might happen in the story? If you felt jealous of another person, what would you do? How could you help somebody who was feeling jealous of you?

The Blonde Lady asked him to sit down, and after he took his seat, Milosz asked, out of observation, "Are you about to move out?" It was a difficult phase in Milo's life and his world became gloomy. What an interesting story! I love how jealousy is pictured as a Green-Eyed Monster one must fight within. Dealing with my girls at home jealousy is unavoidable! I get to remind them to crush the monster and apologize no matter how hard it is. experiments on children as was done Kinderheim 511, with one very big difference: instead of the children being raised in an atmosphere of cruelty and violence, they were being loved and taken care of. When Milo goes to Jay’s house again and discovers he is out with Suzi, he starts to grow jealous and think that Jay doesn’t want to be his friend anymore. Then, a green-eyed monster pops right out of Milo.
