This is by no means the worst entry-level turntable we’ve heard, but sadly it doesn’t quite reach the standard of many previous Audio-Technica attempts. While being a nicely deigned affordable turntable, the LP60 just can’t catch up with the wow factor of its bigger brother. And frankly, not many turntables can. 2. Ease of Use If you are on the search for a new affordable turntable, then two of the models that probably show up most often when you browse the internet are the AT-LP60 and the AT-LP120 from Audio-Technica.This is an impressively high-tech feature, and one I can’t help thinking deserves a little more fanfare than a small blue light on the top of the plinth to indicate the turntable is paired. Bringing Audio-Technica’s legendary quality and audio fidelity to the wireless realm with this Fully Automatic Bluetooth® Turntable System. However, the Audio-Technica’s real party-piece, though, is its ability to connect wirelessly to your system, smart speaker or similar. And the most significant upgrade here over the old AT-LP60BT is the appearance of aptX Bluetooth standard wireless streaming – hence the “X” in the model name. Being able to stream at this kind of standard is an obvious plus-point – as long as the Audio-Technica is doing its analogue-to-digital conversion effectively, of course. The LP120, on the other hand, does not come in a version that features Bluetooth connectivity. At least not at the time this article is written. 14. USB Functionality

A relative found some very thin old 8″ 78 rpm records from 1954 – some ancestral family hobbyist had got some of his reel-to-reel material pressed “for posterity”, little knowing that 78s were about to go the way of the dodo. Wow factor can be described as a quality or feature of something that makes people feel great excitement or admiration.Three stars may appear harsh for a budget product offering so much in the way of functionality. If you were buying it based on price and features alone, it would be good value for money, but the AT-LP60XBT just falls short of our being able to recommend it to those semi-serious about their vinyl. Belt drive means that the platter sits on bearing; the motor is out to the side and makes the platter revolve by using an elastic belt. A direct-drive setup places the patter directly on the motor shaft. Either setup is fine, although some say direct-drive motors are more uniform in speed (and, of course, there’s no belt to replace). Some people have complained that this unit does not have a clip to secure the tonearm, this could damage the turntable during transportation. I personally think that this is a good design because users could forget to release the tonearm before pressing the start button. This could damage your unit. If you need to move the unit, just secure the tonearm with a plastic tie during transportation.
