I'm using it with a Taoglas wideband omni (700-6000MHz) and it certainly improves the signal / speed a lot. Staffed by a small, yet dedicated team, product knowledge and customer service have been paramount to our continued success for nearly 3 decades. I was drawn to the ZTE because of the portability, the ethernet port and the external antenna ports (which the CPE Pro 2 no longer has right?). Still seems a solid device, nicely built and quite a good interface (compared to some of the awful UIs I've seen), shame it doesn't work for me. I am not able to get 5G in my office, so most of my testing was done on 4G. I have also compared speeds with my Pixel 6 phone and the Netgear NBK752 Orbi 5G WiFi 6 Mesh System The Vodafone 5G Mobile Hotspot is a highly capable 5G mobile broadband device that strikes a good balance between price and functionality.It's a directional antenna (advertised as 65 degree horizontal beam) so I can point it in the general direction of the mast I want to connect to. This should both improve RSRP and increase SINR by attenuating unwanted signals If you’re a Vodafone fan, then that could make your decision easy, but everyone else might be wondering whether this is the one to buy or not. Assuming you’re after a 5G mobile broadband device though then the main alternative is the EE 5G WiFi. External antenna connector: Connect the antenna if necessary. E.g. Features and software The MU5001 is advertised as 4x4 MIMO for 4G and 5G. There are only two external antenna ports so these will increase the signal but only for 2x2 MIMO. The other MIMO antennas don't have external connectors. Where this has the edge over some mobile broadband devices is the addition of a touchscreen that you can interact with, further simplifying its configuration. Performance and speeds The Vodafone 5G Mobile Hotspot is one of a couple of 5G mobile broadband devices available on UK networks, and the only one available on Vodafone at the time of writing.All in all, while the Vodafone 5G Mobile Hotspot doesn’t have the most exciting of designs, it looks fairly good, and importantly it’s small enough not to be too inconvenient to take out with you. Setup This makes it quite a pricey device, but actually still a lot cheaper than its main rival (the EE 5G WiFi). So if you don’t need the features of that (highlighted above), the Vodafone 5G Mobile Hotspot is probably the better buy. Conclusion That’s very fast, but it’s also not realistic. Rather, you’ll be limited by what Vodafone’s 5G network is capable of, which itself will vary from location to location, depending on how close you are to a 5G mast, among other factors.
