Description

Nurofen Joint & Muscular Pain Relief 200mg Medicated Plaster, For pain relief of muscular strains or sprains close to the joint of the upper or lower limb. Contain ibuprofen. Special care is required as some medicines may interact with Nuromol 200mg/500mg tablets, for example: – corticosteroid tablets In serious poisoning metabolic acidosis may occur and the prothrombin time/INR may be prolonged, probably due to interference with the actions of circulating clotting factors. Acute renal failure and liver damage may occur. Cardiac glycosides: NSAIDs may exacerbate cardiac failure, reduce GFR and increase plasma glycoside levels. When GI bleeding or ulceration occurs in patients receiving ibuprofen containing products, the treatment should be withdrawn.

Patients with uncontrolled hypertension, congestive heart failure (NYHA II-III), established ischaemic heart disease, peripheral arterial disease, and/or cerebrovascular disease should only be treated with ibuprofen after careful consideration and high doses (2400 mg/day) should be avoided. Careful consideration should be exercised before initiating long-term treatment for patients with risk factors for cardiovascular events (e.g. hypertension, hyperlipidaemia, diabetes mellitus, smoking) particularly if high doses of ibuprofen (2400 mg/day) are required. Symptoms of paracetamol overdose in the first 24 hours include pallor, nausea, vomiting, anorexia and abdominal pain. Liver damage may become apparent 12 to 48 hours after ingestion as liver function tests become abnormal. Abnormalities of glucose metabolism and metabolic acidosis may occur. In severe poisoning, hepatic failure may progress to encephalopathy, haemorrhage, hypoglycaemia, cerebral oedema and death. Acute renal failure with acute tubular necrosis, strongly suggested by loin pain, haematuria and proteinuria, may develop even in the absence of severe liver damage. Cardiac arrhythmias and pancreatitis have been reported. Do not use other medications that also contain ibuprofen or paracetamol together with Nuromol Generic. Over-the-counter painkillers and cold and flu remedies could cause you to overdose. Overdosing on paracetamol can cause serious damage to the liver, even liver failure if it’s not treated promptly with the antidote. A minor hydroxylated metabolite, which is usually produced in very small amounts by mixed function oxidases in the liver and detoxified by conjugation with liver glutathione, may accumulate following paracetamol overdose and cause liver damage. Therefore it is not necessary to interrupt breastfeeding for short-term treatment with the recommended dose of this product.

Mifepristone: NSAIDs should not be used for 8-12 days after mifepristone administration as NSAIDs can reduce the effect of mifepristone. Gastrointestinal (GI) bleeding, ulceration and perforation, which can be fatal, has been reported with all NSAIDs at any time during treatment, with or without warning symptoms or a previous history of serious GI events. The global evaluation of the study medication by the subjects showed high levels of satisfaction with 93.2% rating the product as 'good', 'very good' or 'excellent' in achieving pain relief. The fixed combination product performed significantly better than paracetamol 1000 mg (p<0.0001). Each tablet is film coated. For arthritic pain: The dosage range is from 0.9 to 2.4 g per day. The usual dose is 400 mg, 3-4 times per day, preferably after food. The dose may be raised to a maximum of 2.4 g daily depending on the severity of symptom at the time of initiating drug therapy or as patients fail to respond. After a satisfactory response has been achieved the patients dose should be reviewed and adjusted as required and tapered gradually. This product provides more effective pain relief than paracetamol 1000 mg (p<0.0001) and ibuprofen 400 mg (p< 0.05) which are clinically and statistically significant. In patients with a history of, or an existing gastrointestinal ulceration/perforation or bleeding, including that associated with NSAIDs (see section 4.4). Treatment with N-acetylcysteine may be used up to 24 hours after ingestion of paracetamol, however; the maximum protective effect is obtained up to 8 hours post ingestion.
